In short

Liftup Technologies provides SEO and AI search optimization for French businesses, working remotely from India. The work starts with technical fixes, then French-language content and links, tuned for google.fr, the CNIL cookie rules that shape your analytics data, and the French retail calendar. Results are reported from your own Google Search Console. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

What changes when the searcher is French

A site that ranks in English does not carry over to France by translation alone. French searchers type differently, compare differently and expect the page to read as if it was written in Lyon or Lille, not converted from another market. Keyword research here starts from French queries, with accents, plurals and the formal «vous» register checked against real data.

Google is the main engine, so most of the work is Google-shaped: crawlability, structure, content that answers the query, and links. We add the answer-engine layer on top, because French users now ask the same questions of AI search tools. That part is covered on our AI search optimization page for France.

French rules that touch an SEO programme

None of these is a reason to avoid SEO. They are reasons to build it correctly from the first month. Phrase each as a question for your lawyer, not as something we decide for you.

  • Cookies and measurement. The CNIL requires consent for most trackers, and its guidelines expect refusing to be as easy as accepting. If a banner hides the refuse button, you also lose clean data. We plan analytics around consent from the start.
  • Mentions légales. Under the LCEN, French sites identify their publisher and host. A missing or thin legal page is a trust problem and an easy fix.
  • French-language duty. The Toubon law expects consumer information in French, so an English-only product page is a risk, not just a ranking gap.
  • Accessibility. The RGAA is the French framework, and the European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many online shops and consumer services. Accessible markup also helps crawlers.

Our GDPR website checklist is a useful companion while you review these.

Domains, language versions and hreflang

The .fr extension is managed by Afnic and reads as a local signal to French buyers. A .com can also rank if it has a clear French section. French is also spoken in Belgium and Switzerland, so decide early whether you want one French version or several.

SetupWhen it fitsWatch for
Dedicated .fr domainFrench company selling mainly in FranceRegistration eligibility, and a separate plan if you also sell abroad
/fr/ folder on a .comGlobal brand adding FranceHreflang pairs, French prices in euros, local contact details

Our hreflang generator helps with the tags, and international SEO covers the larger structure.

The French calendar for content planning

France has a retail rhythm of its own. The soldes, the regulated sale periods in winter and summer, drive search for weeks. Searches for school supplies and equipment build towards the rentrée in early September, and August is quiet for many business buyers. The plan we start from is below.

WhenWhat movesSEO work to schedule
Before the January soldesWinter salesKeep one permanent sale URL, refresh copy, check stock and schema
Late JuneSummer soldesSame URL again, with updated offers and prices
July and AugustHolidays, slower B2B searchShip technical fixes and long-form content while traffic is lower
SeptemberLa rentréeBack-to-work and back-to-school pages live in August so they are indexed
NovemberBlack FridayLanding pages indexed ahead of the first promotion day

How the work runs from India

France is 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind India, depending on the season. A 10:00 call in Paris is 13:30 or 14:30 in Pune, which is inside our working day. You get one lead, a written update after each phase, and your own Search Console as the source of truth. We work remotely, with calls booked in your working hours.

Public pricing starts at $1,500 for a project, with work billed at $30 an hour where an hourly model fits better. A short call produces a fixed quote within one working day. See the SEO cost guide for what moves the number, or contact us with your site address.

Questions, answered

Do I need a .fr domain to rank in France?
No. A .fr signals a local market, but a .com with a clear French section, euro prices, hreflang and French contact details can rank. A dedicated .fr is simpler if you are French and mostly sell in France.
Is the content written in French by native speakers?
French-language copy is reviewed by a French-speaking editor before it goes live, and keyword choices are checked against real French queries. We tell you at the quote stage which parts need a native reviewer from your side, such as legal wording.
How do cookie rules affect SEO reporting?
When visitors refuse tracking, your analytics shows fewer sessions. Search Console is not affected by consent, so we report from it. We also set up consent-aware analytics so the gap is understood, not hidden.
How long before SEO shows results in France?
Technical fixes can show within weeks. Content and links usually need several months. We say what we expect for your site in the quote, based on your Search Console, and avoid promising ranks.
Do you have an office in France?
No. Liftup Technologies works remotely from India, with offices in Pune, Coventry and New York. For France that means calls in your working hours and written updates after each phase.
