SEO for the USA

SEO and AI search for US businesses

Technical SEO, content and links for sites that target google.com in the United States, plus groundwork for AI answers. Liftup has an office in New York, and reporting comes from your own Search Console.

In short

Liftup Technologies provides SEO and AI search optimization for US businesses, working remotely from India with an office in New York. Technical fixes come first, then content and links, starting with a decision on location structure: one site, branch pages or state hubs. The work also accounts for state privacy laws, ADA exposure and FTC review rules. You get a fixed quote after a short call.

Choose the location structure before the keyword list

The United States is one language, fifty states and thousands of local markets. The most expensive SEO mistake there is building the wrong page structure, such as hundreds of near-identical city pages or none at all. This table is the first thing we settle.

Business typeStructure that usually fitsWarning
One locationOne site, a strong location page, a verified Google Business ProfileDo not add city pages for towns you do not serve
Several branches in a metro areaA page per branch with its own address, team and reviewsEach branch needs a real, staffed address to qualify for a profile
Service-area business across a stateA state hub plus city pages only where you have jobs, photos and reviewsThin pages with swapped place names are the classic failure
National online storeCategory-led structure; state pages only for shipping and tax questionsKeep sales-tax and shipping details accurate by state
B2B softwareNo geographic pages; build around problems, roles and industriesLocation pages add little unless you sell by region

Our work on Blume, a USA skincare brand, was a Shopify store build rather than SEO, but it shows the national online store shape. See the Blume case study.

Google Business Profile rules that trip people up

A profile is for a real place that customers can visit or that staff operate from. Virtual offices, mailbox addresses and invented branches break Google's guidelines and can lead to suspension. Service-area businesses can hide their address and list the areas they serve. Keep the business name as it appears on the sign and in your registration. Names stuffed with keywords are a common reason for edits to be rejected.

A suspended profile is slow to restore, so we check eligibility before creating or editing one. Our local SEO work covers setup, categories and consistency.

Privacy, accessibility and review rules

RuleApplies toEffect on an SEO programme
State privacy laws such as CCPA and CPRAResidents of states with these lawsAnalytics, forms and remarketing need notices and opt-outs; California requires honoring the Global Privacy Control signal
ADA and WCAGPublic-facing websites generallyAccessibility defects bring demand letters; alt text, headings and contrast overlap with SEO work
FTC rule on fake reviews and testimonialsAnyone publishing reviewsNo fake or purchased reviews, and no hiding negative ones
FTC endorsement guidanceSponsored content and partner linksDisclose paid or free-product relationships in outreach and guest content
CAN-SPAMCommercial email, including link outreachHonest sender details, a physical address and a working opt-out

Laws in this area change frequently, so use the table as a prompt for your lawyer. Where our team in India sees personal data, we put the transfer terms in the contract, and our US AI page explains the state map in more detail.

Getting cited in AI answers in the US

American searchers meet AI summaries in Google, ChatGPT and Perplexity, so a ranking is no longer the only way to be seen. Four moves help. Put a short, factual answer under each question heading. State your business, location and offer in plain language on the home page. Mark the page up with accurate structured data. Decide deliberately which crawlers to allow in robots.txt, since blocking them keeps you out of their answers. The trade-offs are covered in SEO vs GEO.

A working rhythm across US time zones

Live overlap is small. A call at 8:00 in the morning Eastern is 17:30 in India until the US clocks change on 1 November, and 18:30 after. Because of that, we suggest a simple rhythm.

  • Monday: a written plan for the week, with what ships and what needs your developers.
  • Midweek: one scheduled call in your morning, our evening.
  • Daily: changes made in the Indian working day are ready for review when your day starts.
  • Monthly: a report built from your own Google Search Console data, covering queries, clicks, impressions and indexed pages.

Cost: market data and how to read it

We do not publish prices for our own work. After a short call you receive a fixed quote; start on the contact page. For context, the Ahrefs SEO pricing survey reports an average of $3,209 a month but a most common band of $501 to $1,000. The average is roughly three to six times the band, so a few expensive engagements lift it. The Clutch SEO pricing guide reports $100 to $149 an hour. Compare quotes by deliverables, not by monthly totals alone.

US businesses paying a foreign company are often asked to collect a form such as the W-8BEN-E, and sales tax on services varies by state. Ask your accountant before the first invoice.

Questions, answered

Do I need separate pages for every state?
No. Create state or city pages only where you operate and can show real proof, such as jobs, staff, photos and local reviews. Otherwise a single strong page serves better than many thin ones.
How do you work with US time zones?
Mostly asynchronously, with a weekly written plan, one call in your morning and a handoff that has overnight progress ready for your day.
Will privacy laws stop us using analytics?
No, but they set conditions: notices, opt-outs and, in California, respect for the Global Privacy Control signal. Search Console, which does not depend on cookies, anchors our reporting.
Can you help with local rankings and reviews?
Yes, with Google Business Profile, listing consistency and a compliant process for asking customers for reviews. We do not buy or fake reviews.
Do you have a US office?
Yes, in New York (NY 10001), alongside the head office in Pune and an office in Coventry in the UK.

Decide your US page structure first

Tell us where you operate through the contact page and we will recommend a structure, then quote after a short call.
