AI automation for education

AI automation for schools, colleges and training providers

Admissions teams answer the same questions every term and teachers lose evenings to admin. We automate enquiries, paperwork and notices, and we keep marking decisions and pastoral care with people.

In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI automation for education providers: admissions enquiry replies, application document checks, enrolment reminders, timetable change notices, attendance follow-up drafts and teacher admin such as parent letters. It works with systems like Canvas, Moodle, Google Workspace and your student information system. Student data rules shape every design, and staff approve anything sent to families. We quote a fixed price.

Two very different kinds of provider

A private training company sells courses, competes for enquiries and lives on conversion. A school or college serves a defined community and lives on process, safeguarding and records. The same tool does not fit both, so we begin by asking which one you are.

Admissions and administration are where automation helps. Teaching, assessment and pastoral decisions are not tasks we automate. We also ask who currently reads the enquiry inbox at 7 pm in the week before a deadline, because that person is usually the one who gains most from a first reply being sent for them.

Workflows by team

TeamWorkflowWhat the automation doesPerson decides
AdmissionsProspect questions about fees, dates, entry rulesAnswers from approved pages, books an open day or call, logs the enquiryOffers and exceptions

The last column is why we describe this as admin automation. Nothing here marks work or assesses a student.

What we build

  • An admissions assistant that answers from your approved pages only, so fees and dates are never invented. It works on web chat, email and WhatsApp.
  • A document checker for application packs that reads certificates and IDs and lists gaps. It flags, it does not accept or reject.
  • Notice flows from your timetable or student information system to email, SMS or a parent app.
  • Staff drafting tools with your style guide and a rule that nothing is sent without review.
  • A weekly report to the head of admissions: enquiries, response times and applications stuck at each step.

For a conversational assistant on its own, see our AI chatbot development service. For the structured paperwork side, AI document processing is the technique we use.

Student privacy and responsible use

In the US, FERPA protects education records, and the Department of Education publishes guidance for schools. COPPA covers children's data online. In the UK, schools are data controllers under UK GDPR, and the ICO publishes an age-appropriate design code. In Ireland and Australia, GDPR and the Privacy Act apply in their own ways.

We design for data minimisation. Names and identifiers stay in your system, the model sees only the text it needs, and we do not use student data to train anything. Under-18 data gets extra care. Safeguarding messages go straight to the designated person and are never auto-answered. Check with your data protection officer.

How a project runs

  1. Term calendar reviewWe map your admissions cycle and busiest weeks, then pick the workflow with the clearest payoff.
  2. Data protection checkWe list data flows and agree them with your data protection lead before building.
  3. Build and staff trialA small group of staff uses the tool for a few weeks and marks every miss.
  4. Launch before the next intakeWe time go-live ahead of your next enquiry peak.

Our team works from Pune. We schedule calls around term-time hours in your region.

Price and what moves it

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour, with a fixed quote delivered within one working day of the call. An enquiry assistant on one site sits near the low end. Several campuses, a student information system integration, multiple languages and document checking raise the price.

Hosting, messaging and model fees are monthly items listed separately. The AI automation cost guide explains the drivers, and our AI automation page describes the build method.

Questions, answered

Can it mark essays or give grades?
We do not build that. Assessment decisions affect students directly and need a teacher's judgment. We can help teachers with admin around marking, such as collecting submissions.
Will it work with Canvas or Moodle?
Both offer APIs and integration points. We check what your institution has enabled and what permissions our service account would need.
How do you stop it quoting wrong fees?
It answers only from a fee page or table you approve. If the question is outside that source, it says so and offers a call with admissions.
What happens at peak times such as results day or clearing?
Volume spikes are exactly when a drafted first reply helps. We size the flow for your busiest week, not your average one, and test it with a replay of last year's peak enquiries.
Can parents opt out of messages?
Yes. We store each family's channel preferences and honour them in every flow.
Is student data used to train models?
No. We use provider settings that exclude your data from training and document the choice in the data map.
