White label SEO
White label SEO: how it works for agencies and consultants
White label SEO means another team does the work and you deliver it under your brand. It can add capacity without hiring, but only if the partner's quality and reporting hold up under your name.
In short
White label SEO is a fulfilment arrangement: your agency sells SEO to a client, a partner does the audit, content, technical and link work, and you present the results under your own brand. It adds capacity and skills without payroll, in return for lower margin and some dependence on the partner. Liftup Technologies supplies this kind of fulfilment from Pune at $30 an hour, with reports built from your client's own Search Console.

How the model works
You own the client relationship, the contract and the price. The partner owns delivery. Your client sees your name on reports, emails and calls. The partner stays behind the scenes under a confidentiality agreement.
Agencies use this when they want to add SEO to a web design or advertising offer, when a client needs more work than the team can carry, or when they want a specialist for technical SEO, content or AI search visibility.
The arrangement is easiest to run when the scope is defined in units you can both count: an audit, ten optimized pages, a set of briefs, a monthly review. Vague scopes such as do SEO for the client lead to disputes about hours and results, and the end client is the one who feels it.
White label compared with other options
| Option | Cost to you | Control | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hire an in-house SEO | Salary, tools, benefits | High | One person's range; hiring time |
| White label partner | Hourly rate or monthly package, lower than your client price | Medium; you set the brief and review work | Partner quality shows under your brand |
| Referral to an SEO agency | No cost; sometimes a referral fee | Low; client relationship may move | You may lose the client |
| Freelancer | Hourly rate | Medium | Availability and range |
A white label partner works best when your brief is clear and you can check the work against a standard. You remain the one accountable to your client.

Margins and pricing
The model rests on a gap between what you charge and what you pay. If you charge a client a monthly fee and the partner delivers a set number of hours at a lower hourly rate, the difference covers your account management, reporting and profit. Our rate is $30 an hour, and projects start at $1,500.
Do not set the price from the partner's cost alone. Include your time for client calls, review of every deliverable and the cost of fixing anything that falls short. Many agencies underprice because they forget the review step.
For a view on market pricing, see our SEO cost guide, which reports published averages from Clutch and Ahrefs.
What can go wrong
- Cheap tactics. Mass link packages and automated content can break Google's spam policies and hurt your client. Ask what is done and read Google's guidance.
- Generic reports. If the report is a template with the numbers swapped, your client will notice.
- No access. The client's Search Console and analytics should be in the client's name, with the partner added as a user.
- Slow turnaround. Agree response times in writing.
- Confidentiality gaps. Sign an agreement that covers client data and non-solicitation.
Ask for a small test project first, such as a technical audit for one client, before you hand over a retainer.
How to choose a white label partner
- Request real samplesAsk for an anonymized audit, a content brief and a monthly report.
- Check the tacticsAsk them to describe link and content methods and what they refuse to do.
- Review reportingReports should come from the client's own Search Console and analytics, with your branding.
- Meet the leadYou need one named contact who understands your agency and clients.
- Set communication rulesAgree response times, working hours and who talks to the end client, if anyone.
- Run a pilotStart with one client or one deliverable for a month.
