In short

Restaurant SEO focuses on the moment someone searches for food near them: a clear Google Business Profile, a menu in readable text rather than a PDF, accurate hours and a booking or order link that works on a phone. Liftup Technologies sets this up and tracks reservations and orders from search. Projects start at $1,500 with a fixed quote after a short call.

How diners search

Restaurant searches are short and local: Italian near me, brunch open now, dog-friendly patio, birthday dinner for twelve. Most are answered by the map pack, reviews and photos before the diner opens a website. The site still matters, because it is what the map result links to when someone wants the menu, the price or the booking page.

Three habits shape the work. Diners check hours and the menu on the same visit. They read the most recent reviews and look at customer photos. And they often decide between three places in under a minute. Slow pages and menus locked inside images lose that minute.

Tourists and business travelers search differently from locals. They use words like best, open late and near the hotel, and they trust photos and the star rating more than a long description. If you sit near an office district, lunch searches peak on weekdays; if you sit near a venue, they spike before events. Your profile hours should match your real trading pattern, including late kitchens and holiday closures.

The menu problem

Many restaurant sites publish the menu as a PDF or as a photo. Search engines read these poorly, phones zoom them badly and screen readers cannot use them. A menu on a normal page with real text, prices and dietary labels can be indexed for dish searches, shared easily and updated in minutes.

  • Build the menu as an HTML page, one section per course, with dish names people actually type.
  • Mark vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items, and add an allergen note. Check allergen rules with your local food authority.
  • Add Menu and Restaurant structured data so details can appear in search.
  • Keep a printable PDF as an extra, not as the only menu.

Delivery apps are a separate channel with their own fees. We aim to bring more direct orders, which you can run through your own ordering system, using the tools you already pay for.

Press matters more for restaurants than for most trades. A mention from a local food writer, a neighborhood blog or a city guide sends a link and a brand search, and both help the pages above rank. We keep a short list of outlets in your area and prepare a press page with photos, the chef or owner story and opening dates.

Seasons, events and multiple locations

Restaurants live on a calendar. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas parties, Easter, summer terraces and graduation dinners all produce searches weeks in advance. We build event and set-menu pages early and keep them live year after year, so they carry history rather than starting from zero each season.

For groups with several sites, each location needs its own page, profile and phone number. Copying one page across locations confuses both guests and search engines. If you are also redesigning, our restaurant website design page covers the layout, and the restaurant website cost guide explains price.

How we work and what it costs

We begin with a review of your profile, menu pages and reviews. We fix the profile first, then rebuild the menu and location pages, then set up tracking for booking clicks, calls and orders. You approve the copy and photos. Progress is reported from your Search Console and the profile insights.

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. A single restaurant with a profile fix, menu page and a few event pages sits near the start. More locations, an ordering integration or a site rebuild add hours. See the main SEO services page for method.

Questions, answered

Should we put the menu on the website or just on social media?
On the website, as real text. Social posts are hard to search, disappear down a feed and cannot carry prices reliably. Link your social accounts to the site, not the other way round.
Do reviews really affect rankings?
Review quantity, recency and wording are part of how local results are matched and ordered. They also decide whether a diner clicks. We build a simple way to ask for reviews, without incentives that break platform rules.
Can SEO help a new restaurant?
Yes, starting with the profile and a basic site before opening. Early reviews and local press matter more than extra pages in the first months.
What about delivery apps?
They can bring orders, but you pay commission and do not own the customer. We help you push direct ordering where it makes sense for your margins.
Do you need a booking system?
No. We work with the one you already use and make sure the link is easy to find and tracked.
