In short

Liftup Technologies builds ecommerce stores for Danish sellers, working remotely from India. We help pick between Shopify, WooCommerce and a custom front end, then build the store with DKK pricing, moms, local payment and pickup-point shipping, accounting integration and the legal pages Danish shoppers expect. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call, and calls are booked in the Danish working day.

Choosing a platform for a Danish store

There is no single best platform; the right one depends on catalog size, who edits it, and which systems it must connect to. We give a recommendation with reasons, then you decide.

OptionSuitsWatch for
ShopifyMost consumer stores and many B2B sellers; fast launch, hosted, strong app ecosystemMonthly fees and app costs; check how MobilePay is offered through your provider
WooCommerce on WordPressContent-led shops, owners who want to host themselves, custom logicYou own updates, hosting and security; plugin choice matters
Headless with Next.jsLarge catalogs, special design needs, several brands or marketsHigher cost and more moving parts; justified only by a clear need
B2B portalTrade customers with price lists, account approval and order historyOften needs a link to the ERP; scope the integration first

Our comparison of Shopify vs WooCommerce goes into detail, and the ecommerce solutions service explains our scope.

Payments, delivery and the Danish checkout

Danish shoppers expect to pay with MobilePay, a Dankort-branded card or Visa, and to collect parcels at a pickup point. Availability depends on your payment provider and carrier contracts, so we confirm options, fees and test environments with you before building. Carriers commonly used in Denmark include PostNord, GLS, DAO and Bring; we integrate the ones you contract with.

The EU Consumer Rights Directive adds checkout rules. The final order button must make clear that the buyer commits to pay, with wording such as Bestil med betalingspligt. Total price including moms and delivery must be shown before the order, and a 14-day right of withdrawal applies to most distance sales. Your lawyer should confirm the wording for your case.

Trust, law and privacy

  • Company name, address, email and CVR number visible on the site.
  • Terms of sale, return form and delivery times in Danish.
  • Optional e-mærket trust mark and an independent review service, if you qualify and choose to join.
  • A privacy notice and a consent banner that follow GDPR and the Danish cookie order. Datatilsynet is the regulator.
  • Price reductions shown against the lowest price in the preceding 30 days, as the EU Omnibus rules require.

The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many online shops. We build and test to WCAG 2.2 AA and keep a written record of what we checked. Some micro-enterprises providing services are exempt, so confirm your own position.

Back-office links

A store is only as good as its link to stock, accounting and shipping. Danish companies often use cloud accounting such as e-conomic or Dinero, and larger firms may run Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. We check the API access each system offers, map moms codes, discounts and shipping lines, and test that orders, refunds and credit notes reach the books correctly. If the system has no usable interface, we say so before quoting.

How a build runs from India

  1. DiscoveryCatalog, platforms, payment and carrier contracts, integrations. A fixed quote within one working day.
  2. Design and buildStaging store, Danish templates, product import and weekly demos.
  3. Test ordersEvery payment method, shipping option, refund and email tested end to end.
  4. LaunchDomain, redirects from any old shop, tracking behind consent.
  5. ImproveSearch, conversion and speed work over the first months.

Calls sit in the Danish morning and early afternoon, roughly 09:00 to 14:30 in winter and 15:30 in summer, when Pune is also working.

Speed, search and mobile

Most Danish shoppers browse on a phone, and a slow product page loses sales quietly. We set a budget for page weight and Core Web Vitals before design starts, compress and size images properly, and limit apps and scripts to those with a clear job. Our Core Web Vitals checker is the tool we use for before and after tests.

Search needs groundwork too: clean category URLs, unique product text, structured data for price and availability, and a sitemap that updates itself. Danish product names and search terms often differ from the English supplier text, so we review the wording with you. When the shop is live, our ecommerce SEO service can continue the work.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, with extra hours at $30. A small catalog on a configured platform is near the low end. Large catalogs, B2B price lists, custom checkout logic and ERP links add scope. Read the ecommerce website cost guide for typical ranges, or the Denmark Shopify page if you have already chosen Shopify.

Questions, answered

Which platform is best for a Danish webshop?
Shopify suits most stores. WooCommerce suits content-led shops with custom needs. Headless is for special cases. We recommend after reviewing your catalog and team.
Do we need MobilePay?
Many Danish consumers expect it, but check your own customer base. Availability depends on your payment provider.
Are we obliged to show prices with moms?
For consumer sales, prices are generally shown including moms. B2B shops often show both. Confirm with your accountant.
Can you migrate our old store?
Yes. We map products, customers and orders, keep URLs through redirects and test before switching.
Do we need a Danish company to sell?
That is a legal and tax matter for your advisers. We build the store on whichever entity you use.
