In short

Liftup Technologies builds and improves Shopify stores for Danish merchants, working remotely from India. The scope covers theme work, Danish translations, DKK pricing with moms, payment and shipping setup, accounting and ERP connections, and launch checks. Danish shoppers expect clear delivery and return terms, and we build those in. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

What a Danish Shopify launch needs

A Shopify store works out of the box, but a Danish shopper judges it on small things. Is the price final? Can I pay with MobilePay or my Dankort-branded card? Can I collect at a pickup point? Is the whole checkout in Danish? When any answer is no, the cart is abandoned. The checklist below is what we configure.

Payments and shipping in the Danish way

MobilePay and Dankort sit next to Visa and Mastercard in Danish checkouts, and Danish customers often choose the wallet over typing card numbers. Whether you can offer them in Shopify depends on the provider you contract with, so we confirm the options and fees with you before building. We do not guess.

Shipping is the other half. Pickup-point delivery is common for Danish parcels, so the checkout should let the buyer choose a point on a map. We integrate the carrier app or API you hold a contract with and test an order for each shipping method, including returns labels.

Consent, privacy and accessibility

Datatilsynet applies GDPR in Denmark, and the national cookie order requires consent before non-essential cookies. Shopify stores load many scripts through apps, so we audit every app and tag, put marketing and analytics tags behind your consent tool, and list each processor in the privacy notice. Danish-made consent tools exist and are widely used; we install whichever one you already pay for.

Online shops are among the services the European Accessibility Act covers from 28 June 2025. We test the theme with a keyboard and a screen reader, fix contrast and form labels, and document what is left. This is not legal advice, so confirm your own duties with a lawyer.

Theme, apps and speed

Danish shoppers are used to quick, plain stores. A theme with sliders, pop-ups and a dozen apps loads slowly on a phone and makes the cart feel heavy. We start from a lightweight theme and add only what the store needs, usually a review tool, a pickup-point app, an email tool and a consent banner.

  • Product pages show price, stock, delivery time and return terms without scrolling.
  • Size guides and long product names are tested with Danish compound words, which are longer than English ones.
  • Search, filters and collections are set up for Danish spelling variants, so a search for a word with a space still finds the compound product.
  • Order confirmation emails are in Danish and carry the company details a buyer expects.

After launch, our Core Web Vitals check is a quick way to see whether a new app has slowed the store.

Connecting the back office

A Danish store usually needs to pass orders to an accounting or inventory system. We build or configure the connection through apps, webhooks or n8n and similar tools, depending on what your system supports. We map moms codes, shipping lines and discounts so bookkeeping matches the invoices customers receive.

  2. Build on a development storeTheme, apps and Danish text on a staging store you can open at any time.
  3. Test ordersReal test orders for each payment and delivery method, plus return and refund flows.
  4. Launch and watchDomain, redirects, tracking behind consent, then a week of monitoring.

Our overlap with a Danish working day is roughly 09:00 to 14:30 in winter and to 15:30 in summer. Weekly demos and a written summary keep you informed even on days without a call.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and extra hours are $30 each. A small catalog on a customized theme is near the bottom of the range; custom features, migrations from another platform and several languages cost more. See the Shopify cost guide for what moves the number, and our Shopify development service for scope.

Questions, answered

Can Shopify show prices including moms?
Yes. You can set prices to include tax and show them that way to consumers. We set it up with your accountant's view of B2B and EU sales.
Can I offer MobilePay?
It depends on your payment provider and plan. We confirm the current options with you before the build and set up whichever you choose.
Can the checkout be fully in Danish?
Yes, the storefront, checkout, emails and notifications can all be translated. We check every string on a test order.
Do I need a legal entity in Denmark to sell?
That is a question for your accountant and lawyer. We build the store; the legal and tax structure is yours to decide with them.
Who owns the store?
You do. The Shopify account stays in your name, and we work as a staff member you can remove at any time.
