AI voice agents for Irish businesses

A voice agent picks up when your team cannot, understands Irish accents and place names, books the job and sends you a clear summary. We build and test it remotely, with the legal checks an Irish business needs.

In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI voice agents for Irish businesses, working remotely from India. The agent answers your phone line, collects the caller's details, checks your calendar, books or routes the call and logs the result in your CRM. We design the call flow, the escalation to a person and the recording notice around GDPR, Irish ePrivacy rules and the EU AI Act. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

Where voice agents pay off in Ireland

Most Irish businesses that ask us about voice are small. A plumber in Cork is on a ladder when the phone rings. A clinic in Galway has one receptionist at lunch. A solicitor in Dublin loses a new enquiry to voicemail. The common problem is the same: the call comes at the wrong moment and the caller rings the next name on Google.

A voice agent covers those moments. It answers on the first ring, asks what the caller needs, and either completes the task or hands the call to a person with the details already typed up. It is not a replacement for your staff. It is cover for the calls nobody can take.

  • Trades and home services: take the job description, address and Eircode, then offer a slot.
  • Clinics, dentists and physios: book, move or cancel appointments against your diary.
  • Professional firms: capture the matter type and urgency, then route to the right fee earner.
  • Hospitality: take reservations and answer opening-hour and parking questions.

What the agent does on a call

Call typeWhat the agent doesWhen it hands over
New enquiryTakes name, number, need and Eircode, then texts a confirmationCaller asks for a quote it cannot give
Booking changeFinds the booking, offers new times, updates the calendarNo suitable slot exists
Opening hours and pricesAnswers from your approved list onlyQuestion is outside the list
Urgent or distressed callerRecognises keywords and transfers to a mobileAlways, without delay
Out-of-hours callTakes a message and flags it for the morningEmergency wording is used

The agent speaks only from material you approve. It is told what it may say, what it must never say, and when to stop and pass the call on. We test it with Irish names such as Siobhán and Caoimhe, place names like Dún Laoghaire and Portlaoise, and fast, soft-spoken callers, because those are the cases that break a script.

Irish rules to settle before launch

Voice is personal data, so GDPR applies from the first call. The Data Protection Commission is the regulator. Outbound sales calls fall under Irish ePrivacy regulations as well, which is why we usually start with inbound calls only. The points below are the ones we raise on the first call; your solicitor should confirm them for your sector.

TopicWhat we plan for
Recording and transcriptsA spoken notice at the start, a stated reason, and a retention period you choose
Telling callers it is an AIThe EU AI Act expects people to be told when they are speaking to an AI system, so the agent says so early
Outbound marketing callsTreated as a separate project with consent and opt-out checks before any build
Special category dataHealth or legal details are kept out of transcripts unless there is a clear lawful basis
Where data is processedProvider regions and sub-processors listed so you can complete your records

See the GDPR website checklist for the web side of the same questions, and the Data Protection Commission pages listed below for the regulator's own guidance.

How a project runs from India

  1. Short callWe listen to a few real calls, or the way you describe them, and agree what the agent should handle.
  2. Call flow and rulesWe write the script, the escalation rules and the recording notice, and you approve them in writing.
  3. Build and connectWe link the phone number, your calendar and your CRM, and set up a log of every call.
  4. Test with your teamYour staff ring it with awkward cases. We fix what fails and repeat until the calls read cleanly.
  5. Go live and reviewWe start with after-hours or overflow calls, then widen after a week of reviewed transcripts.

Ireland is 4.5 to 5.5 hours behind Pune depending on the season, so your morning meets our afternoon. Calls are booked in your working hours, and a weekly short demo shows real call recordings and what changed.

What it costs

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. A single-line agent that answers, books and logs sits near the lower end. Price moves with the number of call types, the calendar and CRM systems involved, extra languages and how many people need a warm transfer. Per-minute call charges from the telephony and speech providers are paid by you and are separate from the build. The AI voice agent cost guide breaks the ranges down, and the voice agent service page describes the full scope.

Questions, answered

Can the agent handle Irish accents?
Modern speech recognition copes well with most Irish accents, but we do not assume it. We test with recordings of your actual callers and add custom word lists for local names and place names before launch.
Do I need an Irish number?
You keep your existing number. We forward calls to the agent or port the line to a telephony provider that supports Irish numbers, so callers see no change.
Does it have to tell callers it is an AI?
We build it to say so at the start of the call. The EU AI Act points that way, and callers react better when they are told plainly. Confirm the exact wording with your solicitor.
How long does a first agent take?
A single-line inbound agent usually takes three to five weeks including testing. Several call types or systems take longer, and we say so in the fixed quote.
Who owns the agent?
You do. The accounts, prompts, call flows and code are in your name, and we hand over a written guide so another developer can take it on.
