In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI chatbots for Norwegian businesses, working remotely from India. The bot answers in bokmål or English from your own website and documents, passes difficult cases to staff, and connects to your helpdesk or CRM. Data handling follows the GDPR as enforced by Datatilsynet. You get a fixed quote after a short call.

Where a chatbot helps and where it does not

A chatbot fits businesses that answer the same questions every day: opening hours, delivery terms, booking changes, product details and policy questions. It fits poorly where each case needs judgement, such as complaints with legal weight. We say so in the first call and size the project accordingly.

Norwegian customers expect a quick, polite reply and a clear route to a person. A bot that loops without handover does more harm than no bot.

We usually suggest starting with a single channel, your website, and one team who owns the answers. After a few weeks of real questions you will know which topics deserve a deeper integration, such as order lookup or booking changes, and which are better left to staff.

The best first users are your own staff. An internal bot that answers questions from your handbook or product sheets is lower risk than a public one, because mistakes are caught by colleagues, and the same set-up can be exposed to customers later.

Language quality: bokmål, nynorsk and English

Current language models read and write bokmål well. They are less reliable with nynorsk, dialect words and your internal product names. We build a test set from your real messages, run it through the bot before launch, and keep a list of weak spots that you can review.

AreaApproach
Knowledge sourceYour website, PDFs and help articles, indexed so the bot cites them
LanguageReply in the language the customer uses, bokmål or English by default
ToneShort, polite and plain, matching your existing replies
LimitsNo guessing on prices, legal terms or medical advice: it hands over instead
HandoverEmail, helpdesk ticket or live chat to your team in Norwegian hours

Privacy and transparency

A chatbot collects personal data: names, email addresses and whatever visitors type. Norway applies the GDPR through the Personal Data Act, and Datatilsynet is the supervisory authority. In practice we set a short notice in the chat window, avoid collecting more than needed, set a retention period for transcripts and let customers reach a person.

The language model provider is a processor, and so are we if we see logs. We sign a data processing agreement, choose provider settings on retention, and use test data while building. A transfer to India or to a provider outside the EEA needs a safeguard such as standard contractual clauses. Your lawyer should check the arrangement.

How a build runs

  1. ScopeWe pick the top 20 customer questions and the systems the bot must read from.
  2. PrototypeA working bot on a test page, reviewed with your support team.
  3. TestWe run real past messages, check wrong answers and tune the instructions and sources.
  4. Launch and monitorGo live on your site or WhatsApp-style channel, with a weekly review of unanswered questions.

Norway is 4 hours 30 minutes behind India in winter and 3 hours 30 minutes behind in summer, so your support lead can review the bot on a morning call. See our chatbot script template for the material we ask you to prepare.

After launch, your support lead gets a simple dashboard or weekly email with the questions the bot could not answer. Those gaps become new help articles, which also improves your site search and organic traffic.

Measuring whether it works

We agree three simple measures before launch: how many conversations the bot resolves without a person, how many it hands over, and how many answers your team marks as wrong in a weekly review. These come from your own conversation logs, not from our estimate.

If the wrong-answer rate stays high, we change the sources, instructions or scope before widening the bot. A smaller bot that is right is more useful than a bigger one that is not.

If your customers also reach you by email, the same knowledge base can draft replies for a person to review and send. That gives your team a faster first draft without letting the bot send anything unsupervised.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. The number of knowledge sources, integrations and channels decides the price, and model usage fees are billed by the provider to you. Use the AI chatbot cost calculator for a first estimate, read the chatbot cost guide, then request a fixed quote. Our AI chatbot development page explains the service.

Questions, answered

Will the bot reply in Norwegian?
Yes, in bokmål and English. We test it on real messages from your own customers before it goes live.
Can it work with our helpdesk?
Usually. We connect to common helpdesk and CRM tools through their APIs and confirm yours in the first call.
How do you stop wrong answers?
The bot answers from your approved sources, cites them, and hands over when unsure. We review unanswered and flagged questions every week after launch.
Do customers need to know it is a bot?
We recommend saying so in the chat window. Check any sector rules with your lawyer.
Who owns the bot?
You do. The accounts, prompts and documents sit in your name.
What does it cost?
Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. After a short call you get a fixed quote, and the model provider bills usage separately.
