In short

Liftup Technologies provides ecommerce SEO for stores selling to Norway, working remotely from India. The work covers category and product page copy in bokmål, product schema with NOK prices, Google Merchant Center feeds, faceted-navigation control and technical fixes. Results are reported from your Search Console. You get a fixed quote after a short call.

The Norwegian shopper and the search results

Norwegians search for products in Norwegian, compare prices and read delivery terms before they buy. Search results for product terms usually mix store pages, Google Shopping units, price-comparison sites and the large classifieds marketplace Finn.no. A store that wants to appear needs clean feeds, readable categories and the right language.

Foreign stores often start with an English product catalogue. It can rank for brand names but rarely for the generic Norwegian terms that bring volume. We map those terms first, using Search Console data where you have it.

For stores with thousands of products, we do not hand-write every page. We write strong copy for the top categories and best sellers, set clear templates for the long tail, and add unique details such as size guides, compatibility notes or care instructions where shoppers ask for them.

More background sits on our ecommerce SEO service page, and the cost guide lists price drivers.

We start with a short audit that shows which categories already earn impressions, which pages are not indexed, and where the feed has errors. Then we fix in order of effect, starting with the changes that touch many pages at once.

Tax, delivery and consumer rules that show up in SEO

Consumer prices in Norway are normally shown with 25% MVA included, and your structured data and feed should carry that same number. Mismatches between page and feed can cause product disapprovals in Merchant Center.

Foreign sellers shipping low-value goods to Norwegian consumers can use the VOEC scheme, where the seller registers and charges Norwegian MVA at checkout. The threshold per item is NOK 3,000 at the time of writing, so confirm current rules with an accountant. Norwegian consumers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal for most distance purchases. Putting these points on delivery and returns pages answers real questions and helps conversion.

Delivery matters as much as price. Norwegian shoppers look at shipping cost, pickup point options and delivery times before checkout. Stating them on product pages, in schema and in the feed reduces abandoned carts and clears up common support questions.

Search and language details specific to Norway

Norwegian compounds words, so a shopper may type one long term where English uses two. Searches like barnesko or arbeidsklær are single words, and a title that splits them can lose the match. We check the compound and the split form in Search Console before choosing category names.

Spelling of æ, ø and å also matters in URLs and feeds. Choose one convention, redirect the other, and keep it the same across the site, sitemap and Merchant Center, or the same product can exist twice.

Payments, trust and reviews

Vipps MobilePay is widely used in Norway, and shoppers look for it at checkout. Showing the logo in the right place helps conversion, though it is not a ranking factor. Review markup must reflect genuine customer reviews. Self-written reviews risk action from consumer authorities and can remove your rich results.

Calendar for a Norwegian store

  • November: Black Friday is big in Norway. Keep one permanent sale URL and refresh it each year.
  • December: Christmas shipping deadlines on delivery pages by early November.
  • Easter: many Norwegians travel, so plan content and campaigns before the long holiday.
  • Summer: the Norwegian July holiday slows B2B orders but not leisure goods.

Reports show impressions, clicks and average position for category and product groups, plus a plain list of what we changed that month and what we plan next.

How we work and pricing

We work remotely from India, and Norway is 4 hours 30 minutes behind in winter and 3 hours 30 minutes behind in summer. We book calls in the Norwegian morning and send monthly reports from your Search Console. Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. After a short call you get a fixed quote. If your store runs on Shopify, see our Shopify SEO page for Norway.

Questions, answered

Do I need a .no domain for my store?
Not necessarily. Norid generally requires a Norwegian organisation for .no. A /no/ section with hreflang nb-NO, NOK prices and local delivery terms can also rank.
Should prices include MVA?
For consumer sales, yes, shown in kroner with 25% MVA included. Your accountant should confirm how this applies to your company, especially for the VOEC scheme.
Will you manage our Google Shopping feed?
We fix feed quality and structured data. Paid campaign management is a separate service.
How do you report?
Monthly, from your own Search Console, with notes on category and product page changes.
Can you do both Shopify and WooCommerce stores?
Yes. The method is the same, though the technical fixes differ by platform.
