In short

Liftup Technologies designs websites for Norwegian businesses, working remotely from India. We plan the page structure, write or review bokmål interface text, build on WordPress, Webflow or Next.js, and set up consent and accessibility to Norwegian expectations. Calls fit your morning. You receive a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

Who this is for

Most of our Norwegian design work is for small and mid-sized firms: consultancies, clinics, trades, manufacturers and online shops that have outgrown a template or a site built years ago. They usually share three problems. The site is slow on a phone, the text reads like a translation, and nobody is sure it meets accessibility or cookie rules.

A design that solves these is plain and fast. Norwegian visitors tend to value clear information over decoration, so we spend effort on structure, readable type and a short path to the enquiry or purchase.

Norwegian business sites also tend to be read in short bursts. A visitor wants to know what you do, where you work, who to call and what it costs, within a few seconds. We put those four answers on the first screen of the home page and keep long explanations for sub-pages.

What Norwegian buyers look for on a page

ElementWhat we doWhy it matters here
Company footerName, organisation number, address and email on every pageNorwegian online sellers are expected to show who they are, and buyers check
LanguageBokmål navigation, forms and error messages, with English as a second versionMachine-translated text is easy to spot
Price displayKroner with MVA included for consumers, shown earlyConsumers compare gross prices
Trust marksReal certifications and reviews only, with sourcesInvented badges damage trust and break advertising rules
Contact optionsEmail form, phone and a map if you have a place of businessNorwegians often phone before buying services

None of these needs a large budget. Most of them are decisions about order and wording, and we settle them in the brief before any design is drawn.

Accessibility and universal design

Norway has a specific duty for public-facing websites called universal design (universell utforming), set out in the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act and its ICT regulation, with Digdir supervising. We design for WCAG 2.2 level AA: strong contrast, visible focus, real headings, labelled fields and keyboard access.

Your lawyer should confirm which rules apply to your business and whether an accessibility statement is required. Our WCAG checklist lists every item we test before launch.

Content and photography

Design is only as good as the content it carries. We ask for real photos of your team, premises and work, because stock images of smiling strangers are easy to recognise and weaken trust. If you need photography, we plan the shot list and brief a local photographer, whom you hire directly.

Copy is written to the point: short headings, plain verbs, and no promise you cannot keep. Where you describe services that are regulated, such as health or finance, your own compliance reviewer should approve the text before it is published.

If you run several brands or a franchise network, tell us early. Shared components and a clear design system keep every page consistent and lower the cost of later changes.

Privacy and consent in the design

Norway applies the GDPR through the Personal Data Act, supervised by Datatilsynet, and cookie rules sit in the Electronic Communications Act. A banner must give an equal chance to accept or refuse non-essential cookies, and tags should not fire until the visitor chooses. We build the banner into the design instead of adding it afterwards, and we write the privacy notice (personvernerklæring) in plain Norwegian with your input.

How the project runs

  1. Brief and structureA short call, a page list and a decision on bokmål, English or both.
  2. DesignMobile layouts first, then desktop, reviewed together in a weekly call.
  3. BuildA fast build on the platform that suits your editors: WordPress, Webflow or Next.js.
  4. Test and launchSpeed, accessibility, forms and consent tested, then launch with redirects if you replace an old site.

We are 4 hours 30 minutes ahead of Norway in winter and 3 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer, so a 10:00 call in Oslo is 14:30 or 13:30 in India.

After launch we offer a short support window for fixes. Many clients then move to a monthly website maintenance plan, which covers updates, backups and security checks.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, with an hourly rate of $30. Page count, custom illustration, the number of languages and integrations are the main price drivers. Our website cost guide explains them. Read about the service itself on our website design page, or compare with a website redesign if you already have a site.

Questions, answered

Can you write the Norwegian text?
We structure the content and can draft it, but a native speaker should review the final copy. We can arrange that review or work with your own writer.
Which platform should I choose?
WordPress suits teams that edit often, Webflow suits design-led marketing sites, and Next.js suits custom, fast builds. Our Webflow vs WordPress comparison helps.
How long does it take?
A small marketing site is often a matter of weeks. Larger sites with several languages take longer. We confirm a timeline in the quote.
Do I get the source files and accounts?
Yes. Domain, hosting and design files are in your name and handed over at launch.
Will the site be accessible?
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and test it. Your lawyer should confirm the Norwegian legal requirement for your business.
