In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI chatbots for Danish businesses, working remotely from India. We connect a language model such as OpenAI or Claude to your own content, test it with real Danish questions, add a handoff to your staff and set up logging that fits GDPR. The bot tells people they are talking to an AI. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

Where a chatbot pays off for a Danish business

Danish customers write short, direct messages and expect a direct answer. A chatbot is useful when the same twenty questions fill your inbox: opening hours, delivery status, return steps, price lists, booking changes. It is a poor fit when most conversations involve judgement, complaints or sensitive personal matters. We start by reading a sample of your real messages and sort them into what a bot can answer, what it should only prepare, and what a person must take.

Our AI chatbot service covers the build. The chatbot script template shows the questions we collect from you before writing a line of code.

Does it really speak Danish? We test it

Current models handle Danish well but not perfectly. Typical failures are stiff phrasing, wrong gender for the noun, invented compound words and a drift into English when the source documents are English. We test on your own data before launch.

GDPR, Datatilsynet and the CPR number

A chatbot processes personal data, so GDPR applies and Datatilsynet is the regulator. You are the data controller; we and the model provider act as processors. That needs written processor terms, a list of sub-processors and a clear retention period for chat logs. India has no EU adequacy decision, so access to personal data from our side relies on standard contractual clauses and a transfer assessment. Where possible we design the bot so our team works with test data and masked logs.

The Danish CPR number deserves special care. Danish law restricts how it is processed, and customers sometimes paste it into a chat without being asked. We add input filters that mask CPR-style numbers before storage and a line in the greeting asking people not to share it. Confirm your own legal basis with a Danish lawyer.

A chat widget that sets cookies must sit behind your consent banner under the Danish cookie rules. The EU AI Act also expects people to be told that they are dealing with an AI system, so the first message says so. Check current dates with your lawyer, since the timetable has moved.

How the bot learns from your documents

We do not train a model on your files. The usual method is retrieval: your price lists, policies and help articles are split into passages, stored in a searchable index, and the model is given the relevant passages with each question. The answer is built from them, and the bot cites which page it used. When the documents change, you update the index and the bot follows.

Danish source material needs attention here. PDF brochures with tables, scanned documents and old FAQ pages often hold contradictory facts. We list conflicts we find and ask you to decide which version is correct before launch. A bot that repeats an outdated delivery policy with confidence is worse than none.

Handoff, channels and opening hours

  • Website chat is the default. Messenger and SMS can be added if your customers already use them; check your own data before choosing a channel.
  • Handoff goes to email, a helpdesk or a live-chat tool your team already uses, with the full transcript attached.
  • Out-of-hours messages receive an honest answer: what the bot can do now and when a person will reply, in Danish.
  • Staff can edit the knowledge base without a developer, and every edit is logged.

Our AI vendor checklist is useful if you are comparing us with off-the-shelf tools.

How we run it from India

A short call in Danish office hours starts the project. Denmark is 3.5 hours behind India in summer and 4.5 hours behind in winter, so 10:00 in Copenhagen is 13:30 or 14:30 in Pune. We build in a staging environment, run the test set with your reviewer each week, and keep a written log of what changed. After launch we review unanswered and badly rated conversations every week for the first month.

See the broader Denmark AI page for how we handle processor terms and model choice.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and extra work is billed at $30 an hour. The price rises with the number of knowledge sources, integrations with order or booking systems, extra channels and the review effort. Model usage fees are paid to the provider on your account. Our chatbot cost guide and cost calculator show typical ranges.

Questions, answered

Will the bot write correct Danish?
Usually well, but we test it with your questions and fix weak spots with better prompts, glossaries and source text. A reviewer on your side signs off before launch.
Can the data stay in the EU?
Often yes, depending on the model provider and plan. We check the available regions and document them. Some providers offer EU processing, others do not.
Do we have to tell customers it is an AI?
Yes, the EU AI Act expects it, and it is good practice anyway. The bot introduces itself in the first message.
Who owns the chatbot and the data?
You do. Provider accounts, prompts, code and logs are in your accounts.
Do you need staff in Denmark?
No. We work remotely and book reviews inside your working hours.
