In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI chatbots, agents and workflow automation for Norwegian businesses, working remotely from India. Projects handle bokmål and English, connect to your CRM, accounting and support tools, and keep personal data inside GDPR rules enforced by Datatilsynet. Calls are booked in Norwegian hours. You get a fixed quote after a short call.

Where AI pays off for Norwegian companies

Norwegian labour costs are high, and teams are often small, so repetitive work is expensive. That makes routine tasks the best starting point for AI. The table shows the projects we are asked about most.

ProjectWhat it doesService page
Customer chatbotAnswers common questions in bokmål or English from your own content and hands over to a personAI chatbot development
Workflow automationMoves data between forms, email, CRM and accounting without manual copyingAI automation
AI agentPlans and completes multi-step tasks with tools, under human approvalAI agent development
Document handlingReads invoices, contracts and forms into structured dataAI document processing

Not every task needs a custom build. A pre-built tool inside your helpdesk or accounting software may be enough, and we will say so. When a custom workflow is better, we start with one narrow process, measure it for a few weeks, and only then widen it.

Norwegian language and the systems you already use

General AI models cope well with bokmål, but quality drops for company jargon, nynorsk and regional phrasing. We test every build against real examples from your own emails and tickets before it speaks to a customer, and we tell you where it is weak.

Norwegian businesses commonly use accounting platforms such as Fiken, Tripletex, PowerOffice and Visma, and many send electronic invoices in the EHF format, which is built on Peppol. We connect to these through their APIs where they exist, using tools such as n8n, Make or custom code, and the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs for the language work.

Privacy and AI rules to plan for

Norway applies the GDPR through the Personal Data Act, supervised by Datatilsynet. Datatilsynet has published guidance on AI and runs a regulatory sandbox for AI projects, which signals that regulators watch this area closely. Points to settle with your lawyer before launch:

  • A lawful basis and a clear privacy notice for any chat or document data that includes personal information.
  • Article 22 limits on decisions made only by automated means that significantly affect a person. We keep a human decision step in those flows.
  • Employee data, where the Working Environment Act sets limits on monitoring staff.
  • The EU AI Act and how it will apply in Norway as an EEA country. Status can change, so we ask you to confirm it with counsel.

Our AI use policy template and AI vendor evaluation checklist help with the internal paperwork.

A worked example: supplier invoices

A typical project is supplier invoice handling. Invoices arrive as email attachments and, increasingly, as EHF files. An automation reads the document, extracts supplier, amount, MVA and due date, matches it to a purchase order, and drafts the entry in the accounting system. A person approves anything unusual before it posts.

The value is in the checks: duplicate detection, mismatched totals and unknown suppliers all go to a review queue. Nothing posts or pays by itself in the first release. We widen the autonomy only after your team has seen the error rate on real documents.

Data leaving Norway

Calls to the OpenAI or Anthropic APIs send text to a provider, and our team in India may see logs while building. Both are transfers that need safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and a data processing agreement. We use synthetic or masked data in development, choose provider regions and retention settings deliberately, and write down who sees what before real data enters the system.

How we work with a Norwegian team

Norway is 4 hours 30 minutes behind India in winter and 3 hours 30 minutes behind in summer. We meet in the Norwegian morning, which is the Indian afternoon. Work moves in small steps: a workflow map, a working prototype, tests on your real examples, then a monitored launch. Every project has one lead and a written handover.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. Scope, integrations and the amount of testing decide the price, and API usage fees from model providers are paid by you directly. See our AI automation cost guide for the usual drivers, then request a quote on the contact page.

Questions, answered

Can the chatbot answer in Norwegian?
Yes, in bokmål and English, based on your own documents. We test it against real questions first and add a fallback to a human for anything it cannot answer.
Is my data safe with OpenAI or Claude?
It depends on the plan, region and retention settings, which we choose with you. We also sign a data processing agreement and avoid real personal data in testing.
Can you connect to Fiken or Tripletex?
Usually yes, through their APIs or an automation tool. We confirm the exact endpoints in the first call before quoting.
Do I need to tell customers it is AI?
We recommend clear disclosure in every chat. Check legal requirements for your sector with your lawyer.
What does an AI project cost in Norway?
Projects start at $1,500, and you get a fixed quote after a short call. Model usage fees are paid by you to the provider.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes. We monitor the first weeks closely and can agree a monthly support block at $30 an hour.
