In short

Liftup Technologies builds and customizes Shopify stores for Swedish businesses, working remotely from India. The work covers theme development, a Swedish storefront with SEK prices and moms settings, Swedish checkout and payment options such as Klarna and Swish where your plan supports them, and app integrations. A fixed quote follows a short call.

Why a Swedish store needs its own setup

A default Shopify store configured in English with dollars is a poor fit for Sweden. Customers expect kronor, prices that already include moms, a checkout in Swedish and a payment option they know. The store also has to explain delivery to a pickup point and offer a plain return route within the 14-day withdrawal window.

We start from your target customers and set up markets, languages and taxes accordingly. For the platform basics see our Shopify development service. This page covers the Swedish layer on top.

Swedish stores also run into delivery questions early. Many shoppers pick up parcels at a service point near home or work, so the store should show carrier choices and expected delivery days at checkout. We connect shipping rates to your carrier or to a booking tool, and test the full path from cart to label.

Payments and checkout in Sweden

Swedish shoppers pay by card, Klarna (invoice, instalments or direct payment) and Swish, which is a mobile payment tied to Swedish bank accounts. Availability depends on your Shopify plan, your payment provider and your business registration, and it changes over time. We confirm the current options with Shopify's help pages before building around them.

MethodTypical role in SwedenWhat to check before we build
CardsBaseline method for most storesProvider fees, 3-D Secure behavior, payout currency
KlarnaPay later and invoice, familiar to Swedish shoppersWhether Klarna comes through Shopify Payments or its own app, and the contract terms
SwishMobile payment from a Swedish bank accountWhether your provider offers Swish for Shopify; Swish needs a Swedish business setup
Other Swedish checkout providersSome stores use Qliro or WalleyCompatibility with the Shopify checkout and your plan

Payment contracts are between you and the provider. We handle the technical connection, testing in sandbox mode and the test orders that prove each path works.

Language, taxes and legal pages

  • Language: Shopify Markets lets one store serve sv-SE and English, with translated checkout text. We translate theme strings, emails and policies, and a Swedish reviewer checks them.
  • Moms: tax settings set to show prices with tax included for consumers. Sales to other EU countries involve the EU One-Stop Shop rules, so confirm these with your accountant.
  • Legal pages: terms of sale, privacy policy naming IMY as the complaints authority, a cookie policy and a returns page. Consent runs through a banner that blocks non-essential scripts until accepted.
  • Accessibility: theme tested against WCAG 2.2 AA because many online shops are in scope of the European Accessibility Act, in force since 28 June 2025. Ask your lawyer whether your shop is.

Our Shopify launch checklist is the list we run before a Swedish store goes live.

Speed matters too. Every app adds scripts, and consent tools add more. We keep a short list of approved apps, measure the store before and after each one, and remove anything that costs more in load time than it earns.

How a build runs remotely

  1. Scope callCatalog size, payment needs, language plan and integrations such as accounting or shipping.
  2. Fixed quoteSent within one working day of the call, with the list of what is in and out.
  3. Theme and structureCollections, filters, product templates and Swedish content blocks built on a development store.
  4. Payments and shippingPayment methods, shipping rates for Swedish zones and pickup options tested with real orders in test mode.
  5. LaunchDomain connected, redirects set if you are replacing an older shop, then a week of watching orders and errors.

We meet in the Swedish morning. At 09:00 in Stockholm it is 12:30 or 13:30 in Pune, which is our working core. The weekly demo link shows the store in progress, so approvals do not wait for a meeting.

Pricing for a Swedish Shopify project

Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. A small store on a modified theme with Swedish translation sits near the start. Custom sections, a Swedish plus English setup, product import from an old system and app integrations raise the price. Anything bigger is split into phases so you can stop after the first. The Shopify store cost guide lists the drivers. For search work after launch, see our Shopify SEO service for Sweden.

Questions, answered

Can Shopify show prices with moms included?
Yes. Tax settings let you display prices including tax, which is the norm for Swedish consumers. Your accountant should confirm the rates for each product type.
Can we offer Swish on Shopify?
Often through a payment provider that supports it, but availability depends on your plan, provider and business setup. We check current options before quoting and we do not assume it is a one-click toggle.
Do we need a Swedish company to sell from Shopify in Sweden?
Not for the storefront itself, but payment providers and tax registration have their own requirements. Check with your accountant and the provider.
Can you migrate our WooCommerce shop?
Yes. We import products, customers and orders where the data allows, and set 301 redirects so search rankings carry over.
Who owns the store?
You do. The Shopify account, apps and theme code are in your name, and we work as staff members with access you can remove.
