In short

Liftup Technologies builds iOS and Android apps for Swedish companies, working remotely from India. We use React Native or Flutter, plan sign-in with BankID and payments with Swish or Klarna where they fit, localize the app in Swedish and English, and prepare App Store and Google Play submissions. A fixed quote follows a short call.

Apps in a country where the phone is the wallet and the ID

In Sweden a phone does much of what a wallet and an ID card do elsewhere. People identify themselves with BankID on the phone, pay friends and shops with Swish, and expect services to work the same way. An app that asks for a username, a password and a card number feels out of date next to that.

So the first design question is which of those flows your users already know and expect. A clinic app needs secure identification. A marketplace needs payments between people. A field-service app for staff may need neither, but needs to work offline in a cellar or a forest. Our general mobile app development service covers the build process, and this page covers the Swedish layer.

Offline behavior matters in Sweden more than people expect. Large parts of the country have patchy coverage, and many staff apps run in basements, forests, ferries and construction sites. We design for a weak connection first: local storage, a visible sync state and safe conflict handling.

Swedish integrations and what they involve

FeatureHow it usually worksPlanning point
BankID sign-inThe app starts a BankID request and the user confirms in the BankID app, often on the same deviceAccess is arranged through a bank or an authorized reseller; allow time for the contract
Swish paymentThe app opens Swish with a prepared payment request, then checks the result on your serverNeeds a Swedish business setup with a Swish agreement; check eligibility early
Klarna and cardsProvider SDKs inside the appProvider review and fees; follow store payment rules for digital goods
Push notificationsFirebase or Apple's serviceAsk consent, offer a Swedish settings screen, limit marketing pushes
LanguageSwedish default, English secondStrings externalized from day one; dates and money in sv-SE format
AccessibilityScreen reader labels, large text, contrastSome mobile apps fall under the European Accessibility Act; ask your lawyer

We prototype these flows in test environments early, because contracts and approvals are the slowest part, not the code.

Stores, privacy and consent

Both stores ask for a privacy policy, a description of the data you collect and accurate answers in their privacy forms. Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and Google Play's policies change, so we check them at submission time and keep a buffer for a rejection round.

  • GDPR: collect only what the feature needs, explain it in Swedish in the sign-up flow, and offer account deletion inside the app.
  • Analytics and crash reporting: choose tools that can run without personal identifiers, and gate anything else behind consent.
  • IMY, the Swedish data protection authority, is where complaints go. Name it in your privacy policy.
  • Children or health data call for extra care. Bring in a lawyer before you design the data model.

Build process and time zones

  1. Discovery callUsers, platforms, integrations and what the first release must do.
  2. Clickable prototypeFlows in Swedish, tested with five real users on your side.
  3. Build in two-week sprintsA test build lands on your phone each sprint through TestFlight and Play internal testing.
  4. Test and submitDevice testing, accessibility pass, store assets and submission.
  5. Release and supportCrash monitoring and a short fix window after launch.

Stockholm runs 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind Pune depending on the season. Reviews happen in your morning, which is our afternoon, and sprint demos are recorded so people who cannot join can watch later.

Pricing and what moves it

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. A simple app, such as a content or booking app with one role and no payments, sits near the lower range. BankID, Swish, offline mode, admin dashboards and two platforms each add scope. Using React Native or Flutter keeps iOS and Android on one codebase, which usually lowers cost compared to two native builds. When a web app would do the job, we say so; see the PWA vs native app comparison. A fixed quote lists what the first release includes.

A web version can serve as the first release for some ideas. Our web app development page for Sweden explains when that is the better first step.

Questions, answered

Can the app use BankID?
Yes, through an integration you arrange with a bank or an authorized reseller. We build the app side and test it in the BankID test environment. Allow time for the agreement.
Do we need separate iOS and Android apps?
Not usually. React Native or Flutter lets one team build both from one codebase. Truly platform-specific features, such as certain widgets, can be added natively.
Who publishes the app?
You do, from your own Apple Developer and Google Play accounts. We prepare the submission and guide you, so the accounts and the app stay yours.
Does the app need a Swedish version?
If users are in Sweden, yes. We ship Swedish as the default language and keep English as a second option.
How long does a first version take?
A focused first release usually takes two to four months. Integrations that need third-party contracts can extend the calendar.
