In short

Liftup Technologies builds and customises Shopify stores for UK merchants, working remotely from India with an office in Coventry. The work covers theme setup or custom theme code, product data, GBP pricing with VAT shown correctly, UK payment methods, delivery rules and returns pages. Calls are booked in UK hours. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

What UK shoppers expect from a Shopify store

A UK shopper compares your store with large retailers they use weekly. They expect the pound price to be the final item price, a clear delivery date, easy returns and a way to pay in instalments if the basket is big. Shopify supports all of this, but the defaults need configuring.

  • Prices in GBP with VAT included on the product page, as consumers should see the full price.
  • Delivery options by postcode region: mainland, Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and international.
  • Payment buttons that UK customers know: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Klarna or Clearpay where your setup allows them.
  • A returns page that matches the Consumer Contracts Regulations 14-day cancellation right for most online orders.

Payment availability depends on your Shopify plan, your business details and the provider. We confirm what you can switch on before we promise a checkout design.

Peak trading: Black Friday, Christmas and Boxing Day

UK retail trading peaks in a short window. Black Friday falls in late November, Christmas delivery cut-offs follow, and Boxing Day brings a second wave of sales. Stores with heavy apps and large images struggle at exactly this point.

We plan the build so that the code freeze begins in October. Discount logic, bundles and delivery banners are tested by early November, and the checkout is checked on mobile. After peak, we review what slowed down and list fixes for January. If you are launching a new store, we recommend finishing in September or waiting until after Boxing Day.

How the project runs from India

You work with one lead, who is online during UK mornings. The gap is 5.5 hours in winter and 4.5 hours in summer, so a 10:00 UK call lands at 15:30 or 14:30 in India. We hold a weekly demo on a development store, and you approve changes there before they reach the live theme.

The store stays in your Shopify account. You are the account owner from day one and we are added as staff, so access ends when you remove us.

Pricing for Shopify work

Projects start at $1,500, and extra hours are $30. The size of the catalogue, custom theme sections, migration from another platform, number of apps and any subscription or bundle logic move the price. See the Shopify store cost guide for typical drivers, and use the Shopify launch checklist before go-live. For the wider UK picture, visit the UK web page.

Questions, answered

Can Shopify show VAT-inclusive prices to UK customers?
Yes. You can set prices to include tax and configure rates for the UK. We test the product page, cart, checkout and emails so they agree.
Do you build with Shopify Plus?
We work with both standard Shopify and Shopify Plus. Plus is worth the cost only when you need its checkout or automation features, and we say so honestly.
Can you migrate my WooCommerce store?
Yes. We move products, customers and order history where possible, and redirect old URLs so search traffic is not lost.
Do I need a UK company to sell on Shopify?
Shopify and its payment provider ask for your business details and may have country rules. Ask Shopify about eligibility. We set up the store once your account is open.
Who owns the store and theme code?
You do. The Shopify account, domain and custom code are yours at handover.
How long does a UK Shopify build take?
A theme-based store usually takes four to six weeks. Custom sections and migrations add time. You get a dated plan with the fixed quote.
