In short
Liftup Technologies redesigns websites for German businesses, working remotely from India. A redesign starts with an audit of traffic, content, legal pages, accessibility and speed, then a redirect map that protects search rankings, a new design with German text, a rebuild on Webflow, WordPress or Next.js, and launch checks. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.
Why German sites get redesigned, and what can go wrong
Common triggers are an outdated look, slow pages, a site that cannot be edited without a developer, a new corporate identity or a merger. Another trigger specific to Germany is compliance drift: a consent banner that no longer matches the tags on the page, an Impressum with old details, or a shop without accessibility work. A redesign is a chance to fix these properly.
The biggest risk is losing search traffic. Changed URLs without redirects, deleted pages that earned links and rewritten text that drops important terms can cut organic visits within weeks. We treat the existing site as an asset to protect, not a blank page.
Redesign is also a moment to question the site's purpose. Look at which pages bring enquiries or orders, and which only exist because they always did. Removing weak pages, merging overlapping ones and making the main path to contact or checkout shorter often improves results more than a new visual style. We ask for your enquiry and sales data in the first call so that the plan follows facts.
Audit before design
| Check | What we look at | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic and rankings | Search Console pages and queries, linked pages | A list of pages that must keep their URL or be redirected |
| Content | What is useful, outdated, duplicated or missing | Keep, merge, rewrite or retire decisions |
| Legal pages | Impressum, privacy notice, terms, withdrawal information | Updated texts supplied by your lawyer, placed in the footer and forms |
| Consent and tags | Banner behavior and each tracking script | Clean tag list that matches the privacy notice |
| Accessibility | Contrast, keyboard use, labels, alt text against WCAG 2.2 AA | Fix list; BFSG relevance for shops and consumer services |
| Speed | Core Web Vitals on mobile | Targets for the new build |
Our website redesign checklist shows the same steps, and the cost guide for a redesign lists the price drivers.
Redirects and rankings
Every old URL that has traffic or links gets a one-to-one 301 redirect to the most relevant new page, never to the homepage by default. We test the map on staging, launch with robots and sitemap settings checked, and watch Search Console closely for several weeks. If the site has German, Austrian and Swiss versions, hreflang pairs are rebuilt and tested as well. Some fluctuation after launch is normal, and we do not promise that rankings will stay exactly as they were.
Images, PDFs and downloads earn links too, so they are part of the redirect map. If a file moves, its old address is redirected, and files that are no longer valid are replaced by a short page that explains the change instead of a dead end.

We redesign with real German text so that long compound words fit the layout, and we keep the Impressum, privacy notice and cookie settings link in a consistent place. The consent banner offers a clear choice, loads fast and links to the privacy notice. Fonts are hosted on your own server. Pages are built to WCAG 2.2 AA, and shops are checked against the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, which has applied since 28 June 2025 to online shops selling to consumers, with exceptions for very small businesses that your adviser can confirm.
If you already have a Webflow, WordPress or custom site, we say honestly whether to rebuild on the same platform or move. Our German website design page and WordPress development page describe the build options.
Training your team is part of the project. We record short screen videos that show how to edit a page, add a news item or change an opening hour, so that routine changes do not need a developer.

India is 4.5 hours ahead of Germany in winter and 3.5 hours ahead in summer, so reviews are in your morning. Projects start at $1,500 and the rate is $30 an hour; page count, number of languages and CMS needs move the price. The website redesign service page describes the general scope.
