In short
Liftup Technologies redesigns websites for Austrian businesses, working remotely from India. The process starts with an audit of traffic, content and technical state, then covers new design, content updates, redirects, legal and accessibility checks and a monitored relaunch. A fixed quote follows a short call, and the site, domain and code remain in your name.
Signs that a redesign is due
Some sites need a new look. Many need less. We start by asking what is wrong and measure it before proposing anything. Typical reasons Austrian businesses ask us for a redesign are a site that looks dated next to competitors, pages that load slowly on mobile, a back end nobody can edit, a CMS that is no longer updated, or a site that gets visits but few enquiries.
If the problem is only a few weak pages, a smaller update is cheaper and safer. Our redesign checklist and the redesign cost guide help decide the scale.
What to keep, change or remove
The audit sorts every part of the old site into three groups. This avoids two common errors: throwing away pages that earn traffic, and carrying over pages that no one reads.
| Group | Typical examples | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Keep | Pages with steady search traffic, strong backlinks or many enquiries | Keep the address and core text, improve layout and speed |
| Change | Outdated service pages, thin text, slow templates, weak calls to action | Rewrite or restructure, then redirect only if the address changes |
| Merge | Several near-duplicate pages on one topic | Combine into one stronger page and redirect the others |
| Remove | Old news, expired offers, empty tag pages | Remove with a redirect or a clear 410 status, as fits the case |
| Add | Missing pages for services, locations, FAQs and proof | Write new pages from search data and customer questions |
You approve the list before any design work starts. That keeps the project focused, and it gives your team a say in what stays on the site.
Protecting traffic and rankings
A redesign can lose years of search traffic in a week if URLs, titles and content change carelessly. We protect against that with a plan made before design starts.
- BaselineExport top pages, queries, backlinks and conversions from Search Console and analytics.
- Keep what ranksPages that bring traffic keep their address, main headings and key text, even if the layout changes.
- Map redirectsEvery old URL points to its best new match, tested on a staging copy.
- MonitorFor the first weeks after launch, we compare Search Console data with the baseline and fix problems at once.
The website migration checklist lists the steps. For deeper technical checks, see technical SEO in Austria.

A redesign is the right moment to clean up legal pages and consent. We check that the Impressum is reachable from every page and complete, that the privacy policy names the tools in use, that the consent banner blocks tags until consent is given, and that forms store only what they need. Your lawyer supplies or approves the text.
Accessibility deserves a place in the brief. The BaFG applies the European Accessibility Act from 28 June 2025 to certain consumer-facing services, including online shops, and good accessibility helps all users. We design with strong contrast, visible focus states, keyboard navigation and labeled forms, and test against WCAG 2.2 AA. Ask your lawyer whether the law applies to your firm. Our accessibility checklist shows what we test.
Design that suits Austrian audiences
- Show real people, places and products. Austrian buyers distrust generic stock photos, especially in trades, tourism and professional services.
- Put phone number, address and opening hours in a visible place; many customers still call.
- Write in Austrian German where the audience is local, and keep a clear English version if you serve guests or export.
- Show proof: references, certifications, memberships in chambers or associations, stated only where true.
- Design for mobile first, because most visitors arrive on a phone.
Speed is part of design. Large hero videos, unoptimized photos and heavy sliders are the most common reasons a new site is slower than the old one. We set a budget for page weight, test on a mid-range phone and a slow connection, and cut what does not earn its place. The Core Web Vitals check gives a quick reading before and after launch.
Timeline and cost
A small business site often takes four to eight weeks from kickoff to launch, and larger sites take longer. The main variables are content readiness, the number of templates and the number of integrations. We work in two-week cycles with a staging link and short demos.
We are in Pune with no Austrian office, and a 10:00 call in Vienna is 13:30 or 14:30 for us. Projects start at $1,500 and extra work is $30 an hour. For a first look at your site, see the website redesign service or compare it with a fresh website design build.
After launch, we stay on call for a bug-fix period agreed in the quote. Typical items are a missed redirect, a form that needs a different recipient, or a page that needs a text change. A short monthly check of Search Console for errors, plus a review of the first month of data against the baseline, closes the project properly.
