In short

Liftup Technologies provides SEO and AI search optimization for German businesses, working remotely from India. The scope covers technical fixes, German-language keyword research and content, links, and answer-ready pages for AI tools. We plan for DSGVO and TDDDG consent, an Impressum on every page set, and de-DE, de-AT and de-CH versions where they apply. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

What makes German search different

Google handles the large majority of searches in Germany, so the programme centers on Google Search Console, with Bing Webmaster Tools added because Bing data also feeds some AI answers. The harder part is language. German buyers type long compound words, and the same product can be written three ways: Onlineshop, Online-Shop or Online Shop. Keyword research that ignores this misses real demand.

Formality matters too. B2B pages usually address the reader with Sie. Consumer brands aimed at younger buyers often use du. Picking one voice and keeping it across titles, snippets and ads is a ranking and conversion decision, not only a style one.

What the SEO programme includes

Each service has its own page for Germany. Start with the one that matches your problem, or ask for a free-form review through the contact page and we will point you to the right one.

Domains, language versions and hreflang

The .de domain is run by DENIC and is the clearest local signal for a German audience. A global .com can also rank if it has a /de/ section with proper hreflang and German content that was written for Germans, not machine-translated.

  • de-DE for Germany, de-AT for Austria and de-CH for Switzerland. Swiss German writing drops the ß and uses ss, and Austria has its own vocabulary, so a shared page is rarely enough for all three.
  • Prices in euros for Germany and Austria. Swiss visitors expect Swiss francs.
  • Use one canonical URL per language version and return links between all versions. Our hreflang generator builds the tags, and international SEO covers the wider plan.

Consent, tracking and what it does to your data

Under TDDDG, storing or reading information on a visitor's device, including most analytics and advertising cookies, needs consent unless it is strictly necessary. The GDPR (DSGVO) sets the rules for the personal data itself. In practice a share of visitors will decline, and your analytics will under-count them.

This changes how SEO is reported. We lean on Google Search Console, which does not depend on a cookie banner, and use analytics as a directional second source. If you run Google Ads or remarketing, a consent management platform that passes consent signals to Google is part of the setup. The final legal wording of your Datenschutzerklärung and banner belongs with your lawyer or data protection officer.

Legal pages that also affect rankings and trust

German commercial sites need an Impressum under the Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz (DDG), reachable from every page. Shops also need Widerrufsbelehrung, AGB and shipping information. Missing or hidden legal pages cost trust, invite warning letters and slow launches, so we build them into the page template and the crawl checks. See our GDPR website checklist for the privacy items we cover.

Working with Germany from India

Pune is 4.5 hours ahead of Berlin in winter and 3.5 hours ahead in summer. A 10:00 call in Germany is 14:30 or 13:30 in India, so calls sit in your morning and our afternoon. Work happens in phases: audit, technical fixes, content and links, then monthly reporting from your own Search Console. You get one lead contact and written updates after each phase.

Cost

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. Scope, number of language versions, size of the catalog and amount of content move the price. Read the SEO cost guide for the main drivers, then request a fixed quote on the contact page.

Questions, answered

Do I need a .de domain to rank in Germany?
No, but it is the simplest signal. A .com with a /de/ section, hreflang de-DE, euro prices and a German Impressum can also rank. Moving between domain setups later is possible, though it needs careful redirects.
Do you write the German content yourselves?
We plan topics, briefs and structure with real German query data. Final German copy should be written or checked by a native speaker, and we work with the reviewer you name or help you set that step up.
Does cookie consent hurt SEO?
Not directly. Search engines rank pages, not banners. A badly built banner can slow a page or block content, which does hurt, so we test it with the Core Web Vitals and rendering checks.
Can you cover Austria and Switzerland as well?
Yes. We set up de-AT and de-CH versions where the market justifies them, with the right currency, spelling and contact details.
Do you need a German office?
No. The work is remote from India, with calls booked in German working hours. We do not have an office in Germany.
