In short

Liftup Technologies builds n8n workflow automation for German companies, working remotely from India. We connect your shop, CRM, email and accounting tools, prepare exports for DATEV, read incoming e-invoices in XRechnung or ZUGFeRD form, and host n8n in Germany or the EU if you want it self-hosted. Each flow is documented for DSGVO. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

Why n8n is a natural fit in Germany

German companies often ask one question before any tool is chosen: where does the data go? n8n can run on a server in Germany that you rent or own, which answers that question directly. It also has a visual editor, so a non-developer can read what a flow does, and it supports custom code steps for the odd system that has no ready connector.

Our general n8n automation service page covers the method. For comparison with other platforms, read n8n vs Make, which looks at hosting, price per run and control. Our AI automation page for Germany goes wider than n8n and includes document reading and approvals.

A typical German project starts with one department, not the whole company. Accounts payable, order handling or the shared info@ inbox is usually enough to prove the idea. We measure how many items arrive each week, how long each takes by hand and where mistakes creep in. If the numbers show a saving, we build that flow, run it beside the manual process for a short time and compare results before switching over.

E-invoices, DATEV and the Steuerberater

Since 1 January 2025, German businesses have had to be able to receive structured electronic invoices for domestic B2B transactions, with sending duties phased in over the following years. Formats such as XRechnung and ZUGFeRD carry invoice data in a machine-readable layer. That is useful for automation, because a flow can read the data directly instead of guessing from a PDF image.

TaskWhat the flow doesWho stays in charge
Receive supplier invoicePull the attachment, read the structured data, check it against the orderAccounts approves exceptions
Prepare bookingsBuild a file or list in the shape your Steuerberater expects, such as a DATEV-ready exportSteuerberater books and checks tax treatment
Send customer invoiceCreate the invoice from the closed order and email it with the right legal detailsYou approve the template once
ArchiveSave copies into a folder structure with the retention you setYou and your adviser decide retention periods

We do not decide tax treatment or archive duties. We build the plumbing and show the result to your adviser before it goes live.

DSGVO, consent and business letters

Every flow gets a short description: trigger, data fields, systems, processors, retention and the person who handles exceptions. That page is what your Datenschutzbeauftragter needs for the Verzeichnis von Verarbeitungstätigkeiten. We also check three German specifics.

  • Automatic emails count as business correspondence, and German company law expects certain company details in them. Templates carry the right footer.
  • Marketing messages need prior consent under the UWG rules on advertising. Flows check a consent field before sending newsletters or follow-ups.
  • Web forms that trigger flows must not load trackers before consent; this follows the TDDDG rules on terminal equipment access.

These are our build practices, not legal advice. Your lawyer has the final word.

German-language output and the formal tone

Where a flow uses an AI model, we write prompts in German and test with the odd phrasing real customers use. The default is Sie. Replies about complaints, contracts or refunds stay with a person; the flow prepares a draft and a one-line summary. Numbers and dates follow German formats, so 1.234,56 and 08.11.2026 appear correctly in invoices and reports.

Quality control matters more than speed. We keep a set of example messages and documents from your company, run every change against them and compare the output with what an employee would have written. Failures are logged and shown in a short weekly report so the prompts and rules can be tightened.

Working hours, hosting and price

Germany is 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind India depending on summer time. Calls are booked between 9:00 and 13:00 German time, which fits our working afternoon. Self-hosted installs run at a German or EU provider, with encrypted credentials, daily backups and an uptime alert. Updates and backups can be part of a monthly retainer or handed to your IT contractor.

Projects start at $1,500, and extra work is $30 an hour. A fixed quote follows a short call within one working day. Use the ROI calculator to check payback first, and read the AI automation cost guide for what moves the price. Fees for servers, n8n plans, apps and model usage are paid to those providers by you.

Questions, answered

Can n8n read XRechnung and ZUGFeRD invoices?
Yes. Both formats embed structured data that a flow can extract, usually with a small code step. We test with your suppliers' actual files before go-live.
Can you prepare a DATEV export?
We can produce the file or list your Steuerberater asks for. Confirm the expected format with them first, and we match it.
Does the server have to be in Germany?
No rule makes that automatic. Many clients choose Germany or the EU for simplicity. We list the region of every connected service so you can decide.
Do we need a works council discussion?
If a flow could monitor employees, your Betriebsrat is likely to be involved. Customer and back-office document flows usually are not, and we ask in the first call.
Is there a German office?
No. We work remotely from India, with offices in Pune, Coventry and New York, and book calls in German business hours.
