Website care in New Zealand

Website maintenance for New Zealand businesses

Kiwi businesses often run lean, with no in-house developer. We act as that developer on call: updates, backups, monitoring and fixes done remotely, at an hourly rate that stays predictable.

In short

Liftup Technologies provides website maintenance for New Zealand businesses, working remotely from India with calls in your afternoon. We apply updates, test backups, monitor uptime and security, fix faults and make content edits on WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Webflow and custom sites. Work costs $30 an hour, and a clean-up is quoted as a fixed project.

Lean teams need a safety net

A café group, a building firm or a tourism operator rarely has a developer on staff. The site was built once, and then life got busy. Updates pile up, a plugin conflicts, and one day the booking form silently stops sending.

Our website maintenance service is the safety net. We update on a schedule, watch for faults and fix what breaks, so you hear about problems from us and not from a customer.

Your adviser decides the legal position. We keep the records ready.

New Zealand's geography adds one more risk: visitors on slow rural or mobile connections. We watch page weight so a new plugin or large image does not quietly make the site unusable outside the main cities.

What we do on a regular cycle

  • Test and apply core, plugin and theme updates on a copy of your site before touching the live one
  • Check that backups run, are stored off the server and can be restored
  • Scan for malware and review admin users and failed logins
  • Watch uptime, SSL expiry and form delivery
  • Fix broken links, images and slow pages
  • Make small content changes, such as opening hours, prices and team photos

Our maintenance checklist lists each task with a reason, so you can compare it with your current setup.

Pricing by the hour

Work is billed at $30 an hour. A one-off clean-up, audit or migration is quoted as a fixed project, and projects start at $1,500. Prices are in US dollars, so the New Zealand dollar figure moves with the exchange rate. Monthly maintenance plans start from $120 a month (4 hours at $30 an hour), and you can move up or down a block whenever your needs change.

Hours per monthCost at $30 an hourTypical use
4$120Updates and a backup check for a quiet site
10$300Care plus small design changes and new pages
20$600A busy site or store with regular changes

The maintenance cost guide explains what makes a site cheaper or dearer to look after.

Most clients begin with a short trial block, review the monthly notes after three months, and then raise or lower the hours. We would rather right-size the plan than bill for work a quiet site does not need. Unused hours carry over only if we agree that in writing, and the invoice lists every task with the time it took, so you can see where the money went. Larger jobs, such as a redesign or a move to a new host, are quoted as separate fixed projects.

Calls across the date line

New Zealand is six and a half hours ahead of India in winter, five and a half in summer. We hold calls between 2 pm and 5 pm New Zealand time, which is our morning. Because our day ends as yours begins, you often wake to completed work.

Fix, rebuild or replace

If your platform is out of date or the design no longer fits, a rebuild may be better value than endless patches. We explain the trade-offs in our note on maintenance versus redesign.

Before any rebuild, we first stabilize the existing site, so you do not lose enquiries while the new version is built.

If a rebuild is the answer, we can plan it around your quiet season, so that the switch to the new site does not land in the middle of a peak period for bookings or sales.

Questions, answered

Do you have a New Zealand office?
No. We work remotely from Pune, with offices in Coventry and New York. Calls are booked in your afternoon.
Do you maintain Shopify and Webflow sites?
Yes, along with WordPress, WooCommerce and custom builds. The tasks differ, since hosted platforms need less patching and more app and theme care.
What if the site was hacked?
We quote a fixed clean-up: isolate, remove malicious code, restore from a clean backup and harden.
Do I need to give you my main login?
No. We prefer a named account that you can remove at any time.
Can you add features after launch?
Yes, as hours at $30 an hour or as a fixed project if the work is large.
