In short

Liftup Technologies redesigns websites for Swedish companies, working remotely from India. We audit what already earns traffic and enquiries, plan the new structure, design and build it on your platform or a new one, update Swedish copy, accessibility and consent, and launch with a tested redirect map. A fixed quote follows a short call, and you own the result.

Start with what works today

A redesign that starts with the visuals often loses traffic. We start with data: which pages bring visitors in Search Console, which lead to enquiries, which are never visited, and which links point to old addresses. The answer shapes the new site. Pages that earn traffic keep their address and most of their content. Weak pages are merged or improved, not just repainted.

Then we look at the visitor. Heatmaps and session recordings need consent in Sweden, so we use them only on a consented sample and rely on Search Console, form data and interviews with your sales staff to see what visitors ask. Our website redesign service describes the process, and the website redesign checklist is the list we follow.

We also write down what the site is for. A company site that exists to bring in enquiries is designed differently from one that supports existing customers. Setting one main goal and one or two secondary goals early prevents the usual drift, where every department asks for a place on the homepage.

Swedish points to settle in the redesign

TopicWhat to settleWhy it matters
AccessibilityTarget WCAG 2.2 AA; test keyboard, contrast, forms, focusThe European Accessibility Act applies from 28 June 2025 to many consumer services and shops
ConsentBanner with equal-weight accept and reject, tags blocked until consentSwedish electronic communications law and GDPR; IMY supervises GDPR
LanguageSwedish primary, English where buyers need it, hreflang between themBuyers search in Swedish even when they read English well
Company detailsName, address, organisationsnummer, contact, privacy policyTrust for business buyers and legal requirements for shops
DomainKeep the existing .se or plan the move with redirectsA domain change is the most common cause of lost rankings
SpeedImage formats, font loading, fewer scriptsCore Web Vitals field data affects search visibility

Accessibility is easier to build in than to fix afterwards. We design with enough contrast and clear focus states from the first mock-up, and we test the finished build with a keyboard and a screen reader. Our WCAG 2.2 checklist lists the checks. Whether the Act applies to your business is a question for your lawyer.

Protecting rankings during the switch

  1. Crawl the old siteRecord every URL, title, heading, redirect and internal link before anything changes.
  2. Map the new structureEvery old address that has traffic or links gets a destination in the new site.
  3. Build on stagingStaging is blocked from search engines, and the redirect map is tested there.
  4. Launch at a quiet timeAvoid midsummer, July and the weeks before Christmas if you sell online.
  5. Watch for six weeksWe check indexing, crawl errors, rankings and enquiries daily in the first week, then weekly.

Our website migration checklist has the detail. If you also move from .com to .se or the reverse, the same plan applies with extra care for hreflang and Search Console property changes.

Keep the old site reachable on a private address until the new one has been stable for a few weeks. If something unexpected happens, you can compare against the original instead of guessing.

Copy, images and the Swedish tone

Good Swedish copy is short, direct and specific. We rewrite headlines and key pages in Swedish, keep claims you can prove, and avoid words that sound inflated. Machine translation is used only as a first draft and is always edited. If you have a brand voice, we follow it. If you do not, we write a one-page style guide so future edits stay consistent.

Images should show your real people, premises or products where possible. Stock photos that look foreign can reduce trust. Alt text is written in Swedish on Swedish pages, and descriptive, not stuffed with keywords.

Timeline, working hours and price

A typical company site of 20 to 40 pages takes about six to ten weeks from sign-off of the plan. We work from India and meet in the Swedish morning, with one named project lead, a weekly progress link and a staging site you can review at any time.

Projects start at $1,500 with an hourly rate of $30. The website redesign cost guide shows what changes the price: page count, custom design, languages and integrations. See also the Sweden web design and development page for the wider work we do for Swedish companies.

Questions, answered

Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?
It can if URLs, content and links change without a plan. With a redirect map, preserved content and monitoring after launch, most sites keep their rankings or improve.
Do we need to keep our current platform?
Not necessarily. We compare the cost of staying with the cost of moving, and recommend moving only when the current platform holds you back.
Can the redesign include an English version?
Yes. We build it as separate URLs with hreflang, written for English readers rather than translated word for word.
Who owns the new site?
You do. Hosting, domain, code and design files are in your accounts or handed over at launch.
Can we redesign in phases?
Yes. Many firms start with the homepage and top service pages, then extend. Phasing lowers risk and spreads the cost.
