In short

Liftup Technologies builds and customizes Shopify stores for Swiss merchants, working remotely from India. We set up CHF pricing, VAT-inclusive display, German, French and Italian storefronts, Swiss shipping zones and local payment options such as TWINT where your provider supports them. A short call leads to a fixed quote within one working day, and you own the store account.

What a Swiss Shopify store needs on day one

A default Shopify store is built for a single-language, single-currency market. Switzerland asks for more. Customers expect prices in CHF, a checkout in their own language, delivery quotes that make sense for Swiss postcodes and payment methods they already use. Getting these right before launch avoids abandoned carts and support emails.

Shopify's own help center documentation on international selling explains how Markets work, and we configure it for the Swiss case.

Theme and customization

We start from a clean theme or a premium theme you already own and customize sections, product pages, filters and cart. Long German and French product names break many layouts, so we test templates with real catalog data. Where a Shopify app adds a monthly fee, we say so in the quote and suggest theme code instead when the feature is small.

  • Product pages with size guides, delivery times and return terms in the visitor's language.
  • A cart that shows the total price, VAT note and delivery cost before checkout.
  • Migration from WooCommerce, Magento or another platform, with product data, customers and redirects. Our Shopify launch checklist lists the steps.
  • Speed work: image sizes, app audit and script loading.

Keep the theme light. Each extra animation, popup or tracking script slows the store on mobile data, and Swiss shoppers abandon slow checkouts. We set a speed budget at the start and check it after each change, so the store stays quick as the catalog grows.

Privacy for stores

Stores hold names, addresses and order history. The revised Federal Act on Data Protection has applied since 1 September 2023, and the FDPIC supervises it. Your privacy notice should describe the apps and trackers you use, and each added app is another processor to list. If you ship to EU customers, the GDPR can apply as well. We keep the app list short and give you a record of what is installed. Check the wording with your lawyer.

Pre-launch checks for a Swiss store

  1. Place a test order in each language and each payment method, on a phone and a laptop.
  2. Check that the cart, checkout and emails show CHF and the right VAT note.
  3. Confirm shipping prices for a postcode in each language region, for example Zurich, Lausanne and Lugano.
  4. Read the legal pages in every language for missing sections and mixed-language text.
  5. Look at order confirmation emails for formal address and Swiss spelling.
  6. Verify that hreflang tags point to the correct language versions.
  7. Test the 404 page and the redirects from the old site.
  8. Check that analytics and ad pixels respect the cookie choice.

We run this list before every launch and send you the results. Swiss shoppers expect things to work, and small errors in a store cost more trust than in a brochure site.

How the work runs

We work remotely. Switzerland is 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind India, so a 09:00 call in Bern is 13:30 or 12:30 in Pune. You get weekly demos on a development theme, and one lead who answers your questions. Launch includes tracking, redirects, a test order in every payment method and a handover video. The store, apps and domain stay in your accounts.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and the rate is $30 an hour. Catalog size, language count, custom features and migration drive the fixed quote. Our Shopify store cost guide covers typical ranges, and Shopify vs WooCommerce helps if you are still choosing. To get found after launch, add Shopify SEO. Details of the base offer sit on our Shopify development service page.

Questions, answered

Can a Shopify store accept TWINT?
Yes, through payment providers that support it. Which provider you can use depends on your business entity and country setup, so confirm with the provider early.
Can the store show German, French and Italian?
Yes. Shopify supports multiple languages. We set up the structure, and you supply or approve the translations.
Do prices need to include VAT?
Consumer prices are normally shown as the final amount including VAT. We configure tax-inclusive display, but confirm your obligations with your accountant.
Can you move our WooCommerce shop to Shopify?
Yes. We migrate products, customers and orders where possible and map every old URL to a new one to protect rankings.
Who owns the Shopify account?
You do. We work as a staff collaborator and you can remove access at any time.
