Why Poland needs its own Shopify setup

A default Shopify store is built around card payments, home delivery and English text. Polish buyers expect something different. Many pay with BLIK or an online bank transfer, choose a parcel locker for delivery, and sometimes ask for an invoice with a company tax number (NIP). A store that does not cover this loses sales at checkout, not at the product page.

Payment provider availability changes. We check current options with Shopify and the providers before quoting.

Polish agencies and software houses also build Shopify stores, and some are certified partners with local support. That is a fair option if you want a nearby team. Compare scope, support terms and who owns the store account, not only price.

Legal and consent items to settle

Shopify provides policy page templates, but they are a starting point. A Polish store needs terms of sale, a privacy policy, cookie information and returns instructions written for Polish and EU consumer law, including the 14-day withdrawal right for distance sales. Have your lawyer approve the text. RODO, the Polish name for GDPR, applies to customer data, and UODO is the regulator. Set up the cookie banner so non-essential tags wait for consent.

The European Accessibility Act applies from 28 June 2025 to many online stores. We test keyboard use, contrast and form labels in the theme. See also GDPR website checklist.

Design for Polish shoppers

Polish product names and category labels can run long, and filters often include many options. We design the product grid, menu and filter bar with that in mind, and we test on small phone screens. Delivery cost and time should be visible before checkout, and the returns link should be in the footer and on the product page.

Trust matters for smaller stores. We place the company name, address, contact details and policy links where a first-time buyer can find them. Reviews are shown only if they come from real orders. If you also sell on Allegro, we can keep product data consistent between the marketplace and your own store, so prices and descriptions do not conflict.

A first estimate depends on whether you already have product data in a spreadsheet or another platform. Clean data in a standard format saves hours, and we can import it in bulk. Missing images and inconsistent attributes are the usual causes of delays, so we flag them in week one.

Price
