In short

Liftup Technologies provides technical SEO for Australian websites, working remotely from India. We crawl the site, check what Google indexes, fix or specify changes to structure, speed, rendering, redirects and structured data, and set up hreflang and domain settings for the Australian market. A fixed quote follows a short call and arrives within one working day.

What breaks on Australian sites

The problems we meet most often are not exotic. They are old redirect chains after a rebrand, a .com and .com.au both live with the same content, product filters that spawn thousands of URLs, and plugins that inject slow scripts. Because Australian sites often serve a small domestic market, one indexing error can hide a large part of the catalog.

SymptomLikely causeFix we scope
Pages crawled but not indexedThin duplicates, soft 404s, weak internal linksMerge or improve pages, add links from strong sections, resubmit
Wrong country version ranksMissing or conflicting hreflang between .com and .com.auReciprocal en-AU tags, canonical alignment, one version per page
Slow on mobileHeavy images, tag managers, render-blocking codeResize and lazy-load media, defer scripts, measure on real devices
Traffic drop after a rebuildOld URLs not redirected301 map from the crawl, checked page by page
Rich results lostInvalid or misleading structured dataClean schema that matches what is on the page

Each issue goes into a spreadsheet with the affected URLs, severity and a retest date. You see what we saw, and your developers can check our work. We do not report vague scores, only specific pages that are fixed or still broken.

Domains, hosting and distance

Under auDA's rules, a .com.au domain needs an Australian presence, commonly an ABN, ACN or registered trademark. Google treats country-code domains as a signal for the target country, so a business that qualifies for .com.au gets a clear signal for free. A .com with an Australian section uses hreflang and local content instead. Never run both with the same text and no tags.

Latency is a real factor when your users are on the east coast and your server is in Europe or North America. We check where the server sits, whether a CDN has Australian edge locations, and what the real-user speed data shows in Chrome's field reports. The Core Web Vitals check gives a first reading, and the technical SEO checklist is the list we work from.

If you are changing platform or domain, the same checks apply with more at stake. A move from an old site to a new one needs a redirect map, a staging crawl and a plan for the first month of monitoring. Our website migration checklist shows the steps.

JavaScript and rendering

Modern Australian ecommerce and SaaS sites often use React, Next.js or headless setups. These can be fine for search, but only if the important content, links and metadata are present in the HTML Google renders. We test what Googlebot actually sees, using the URL Inspection tool, and flag content that loads only after a click or a scroll. Where a fix needs developer time, we write a ticket your team can paste into their own tracker, with the page, the problem and the test that proves the fix.

Privacy and consent scripts

Australia has no cookie-banner law like the EU's, but the Privacy Act 1988 still expects you to tell people what you collect through analytics and advertising tags. Consent tools can also hurt speed or block tracking, which distorts reporting. We review which tags fire, in what order, and whether a lighter setup would do. If you serve visitors in Europe too, a stricter consent flow may be required there, and we keep the Australian version separate.

How the engagement runs

  1. Crawl and baselineA full crawl, Search Console review and a list of issues ranked by likely impact.
  2. Fix listEach issue with a plain description, the page examples and who should fix it.
  3. Implement or supportWe make the changes on your platform, or support your developers with specifications.
  4. VerifyRe-crawl, check indexing in Search Console, and report what changed.

Calls follow your city's hours. A 9:30 start in India is 14:00 in Sydney in winter, 15:00 during daylight saving, and noon in Perth.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. Site size, platform limits and whether we implement fixes or only specify them move the quote. Read our technical SEO service page for scope and the SEO audit cost guide if you are starting with a review.

A one-off audit with a written fix list sits at the lower end of that range for a small site. Larger catalogs, many templates or a migration take longer, and we say how many hours before work begins.

Questions, answered

Do I need hreflang for Australia?
Only if you have more than one version of a page for different regions or languages, for example en-AU and en-US. A single-country .com.au site does not need it. See the hreflang generator.
Can you work on Shopify, WordPress and custom sites?
Yes. Platform limits change what is possible, so the fix list is written for your platform.
How do you prove the fixes worked?
With before and after data from Search Console: indexed pages, impressions, and Core Web Vitals field data once enough visits are recorded.
Do you handle site migrations?
Yes. We map every URL, set 301 redirects, monitor indexing after launch and keep a rollback plan.
Is this a one-off or ongoing?
Both are possible. Many sites need one focused project, then a light monthly check.
