In short

Liftup Technologies provides ecommerce SEO for Austrian online shops, working remotely from India. The work covers category and product page structure, structured data with USt-inclusive prices, feeds for Google Shopping and price comparison sites, de-AT targeting and a content plan for Austrian demand. A fixed quote follows a short call.

The Austrian shop problem: German giants in the same results

Austrian shoppers use the same Google results as German ones, and big German shops, marketplaces and comparison sites often hold the first positions. A local shop rarely beats them on size. It can win on relevance: Austrian delivery times, Austrian prices, local wording and a trustworthy company page.

Most Austrian shops also sell into Germany. If that is you, the SEO plan has to decide which pages target Austria, which target Germany and which serve both.

Marketplaces add another layer. Willhaben is the large Austrian classifieds site, and Amazon.de also delivers to Austria. A shop that wants to compete must give customers a reason to buy direct: clear delivery promises, easier returns, a better range or expert advice. SEO makes that case visible in search.

What we work on

  1. Category mapGroup products by the way Austrians search, then give each group one strong page instead of many thin ones.
  2. Filter and URL controlDecide which filtered pages deserve to be indexed and which are blocked, so crawl budget goes to pages that sell.
  3. Product dataProduct schema with gross prices, stock, shipping and return details that match what the page shows.
  4. FeedsGoogle Merchant Center feeds with Austrian shipping, and listings on comparison sites such as Geizhals where they suit your category.
  5. ContentBuying guides, size and fit help, and comparison pages in Austrian German.

For the general service see ecommerce SEO. If you run on Shopify, the platform-specific work is on Shopify SEO for Austria.

Technical work comes first when a shop has thousands of URLs. Sorting options, session parameters and out-of-stock products can create many near-duplicate pages. We crawl the shop, list the patterns and fix them with canonical tags, noindex rules or changes to internal links, depending on the platform. The method is described on technical SEO in Austria.

Seasonal plan for Austrian retail

Demand peaks around the weeks before Christmas, with Black Friday a growing event in Austria. Mother's Day in May, Easter, back to school in September and ski season for sports retail shape other categories. Sale pages should keep one permanent URL that you update each year instead of creating a new page every season.

Publish and index seasonal pages weeks before the event, because Google needs time to crawl and trust a new page.

  • October: Christmas gift guides and advent calendar pages go live.
  • November: Black Friday landing page indexed, stock and delivery times checked.
  • December: delivery cut-off dates stated on product pages and in the feed.
  • January: sale page updated, with the spelling Jänner used in titles for Austrian searchers.
  • Spring: Easter and Mother's Day pages, then outdoor and garden ranges.

Working across the time gap

Vienna is 3.5 or 4.5 hours behind India, depending on the season. Review calls at 10:00 in Austria are 13:30 or 14:30 for us. We work remotely, with no Austrian office, and give a written update after each phase. Reporting uses your own Search Console and analytics, and you keep access throughout.

Projects start at $1,500 and extra work costs $30 an hour. Catalog size, platform and the amount of content move the quote. Our ecommerce SEO cost guide explains the drivers.

Reporting combines three sources: Search Console for visibility, your analytics for visits and revenue from organic search, and Merchant Center for feed health. Because consent banners reduce analytics coverage in Austria, we treat Search Console as the reference for trends and the shop backend as the reference for orders.

Questions, answered

Should I use a .at or .de domain for my shop?
If most customers are Austrian, a .at domain is a clear signal. If you sell mainly into Germany, .de may fit better. A single .com with hreflang sections also works.
Do you handle Google Shopping feeds?
Yes. We prepare the feed fields, shipping rules and price formats, and fix Merchant Center errors. Paid campaign management is a separate scope.
How long before a shop sees results?
Technical fixes may show in Search Console in weeks. New categories and content usually take several months, depending on competition.
Can you work with my platform?
Yes: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento-style custom builds and headless stores. We review the platform's limits during the audit.
Do you promise ranking positions?
No. Nobody controls Google's results. We report the work done and the movement in Search Console each month.
How do you treat out-of-stock products?
Pages for temporarily unavailable items stay live with a clear status and a back-in-stock option. Permanently discontinued items are redirected to the closest category or replacement, so links and rankings are not lost.
