In short
Liftup Technologies provides Shopify SEO for Austrian merchants, working remotely from India. We audit the store, fix duplicate URLs and theme issues, rework collection and product pages in Austrian German, set up markets and hreflang, add product schema and report in Search Console. A fixed quote follows a short call, and you keep full control of the store.
What Shopify gives you and what it does not
Shopify handles many basics: HTTPS, a sitemap, mobile themes and clean checkout. It also sets some limits. URLs follow fixed patterns, products can be reached through several paths, and robots.txt and templates need careful edits. Good Shopify SEO works with the platform instead of against it.
| Shopify trait | Effect on search | Our approach |
|---|---|---|
| Products reachable under /collections/ and /products/ | Duplicate paths for one product | Canonical tags to the main product URL; theme checked for internal links |
| Tag and filter pages | Many thin or near-duplicate pages | Noindex or canonical rules; useful filters turned into proper collections |
| Fixed URL prefixes | Less control over structure | Strong collection handles and clear breadcrumb paths |
| Apps adding scripts | Slower mobile pages | App audit; remove or replace what is not needed |
| Markets and languages | Hreflang and currency complexity | Set up markets deliberately, with hreflang from Shopify or the translation app |
Our Shopify SEO checklist lists the checks, and the Shopify development page for Austria covers building the store.
Collections, products and Austrian wording
Collections are usually the best chance to rank, because shoppers search for categories first. Each collection needs a clear title, a short helpful intro, unique text and links to related collections. We write them in the words Austrians use: for example Sackerl instead of Tüte, Paradeiser for tomatoes, and Jänner for January in sale pages.
Product pages need unique descriptions, not the supplier's text, sizes and materials in plain facts, delivery times, and clear images with alt text. Reviews help conversion and, where you have them from real customers, can be shown with review markup. We never invent reviews.
- Titles under about 60 characters, with the product type first.
- Descriptions that answer the three most common questions for that item.
- Internal links from collections and guides to the best-selling items.
- Out-of-stock items kept live with a status, or redirected when discontinued.
Image names and alt text matter too. A file called IMG_2043.jpg tells search engines nothing, while a clear name and a plain description help image search and accessibility at once. Variants such as colors and sizes need either their own images or a clear selector, so shoppers and crawlers see the same product.
Markets, currency and hreflang
Shopify Markets lets one store serve several countries. If you sell to Austria and Germany, each market can have its own domain or subfolder, price and shipping rules. For search, the pages must point to each other with hreflang so Google shows the right version, such as de-AT for Austria. A shared German page for both countries is acceptable when local wording is not important, but prices and delivery details should still be correct for each market. Our international SEO checklist and the hreflang tool on technical SEO in Austria help with the details.

Get my fixed quoteStructured data, speed and consent
Product markup with price, availability and review data helps search engines show rich results, but it must match what the page says. We check the theme's output, fix errors and add what is missing. Speed work focuses on theme code, image sizes and apps, because these decide mobile performance.
Consent matters as well. Apps that load tracking scripts before consent create GDPR risk, and the Datenschutzbehörde is the Austrian authority. We check how your consent app handles Shopify's customer privacy settings and test the result with the banner closed.
Content that supports the shop
Collection and product pages carry the revenue, but guides bring buyers who are still comparing. A shop that sells coffee machines can publish a buying guide for offices, a descaling how-to and a comparison of capsule and bean systems. A shop selling wool clothing can explain care, sizes and fabric. Each guide links to the matching collection and to two or three products.
We choose topics from Search Console queries and from the questions your support team receives, and we write in the German your buyers use. Shopify's blog is enough for this; no extra platform is needed. Posts are kept short and useful, with clear headings, real photos and a visible author or shop name.
- One main question per post, answered near the top.
- Internal links to the collection, then to specific products.
- Updated dates only when the content changed.
- FAQ sections only where the questions are real, and marked up to match.
How the monthly work runs
The first month is an audit and the highest-value fixes. After that, each month we publish or improve a set of collection and product pages, extend the content that supports them, and report. Reports use Search Console for visibility and Shopify's own data for orders, because consent banners hide part of the analytics view. We do not promise rankings.
We work from Pune with no Austrian office. A 10:00 call in Vienna is 13:30 or 14:30 for us. Projects start at $1,500 and extra work is $30 an hour. See the Shopify SEO service page, the ecommerce SEO page for Austria for the broader view and the SEO cost guide.
