In short

Liftup Technologies designs and builds websites, online stores, web apps and mobile apps for Austrian businesses, working remotely from India. Every build covers the Austrian basics: Impressum, consent, accessibility under the BaFG, USt-inclusive prices and local payment methods. A fixed quote follows a short call, and you own the code and accounts.

What Austrian buyers expect from a business website

Austrian customers read a site for trust signals before they read the offer. A complete Impressum, clear prices including USt, a visible Widerrufsbelehrung for shops and an address that looks real all matter. Sites that look like a German template with an Austrian phone number added tend to lose that trust.

Firms range from Vienna startups to family trades, hotels and manufacturers in Styria, Tyrol and Upper Austria. The right build for each is different, so we start with the business goal and then pick the platform.

Tourism and trades show the range. A hotel or Pension needs fast mobile pages, photos that load quickly and a booking path that works in German and English. A Handwerk firm needs a clear service area, references and a quick way to request a visit. An engineering or software firm needs proof of expertise and a page for each product line.

How platform choice works in Austria

We build with Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce, Webflow, Next.js and React Native or Flutter. A small shop with standard products usually fits Shopify. A content-heavy company site with several editors often fits WordPress. A product with logins and workflows fits Next.js or a custom stack. Our comparison of Shopify and WooCommerce shows the trade-offs.

Whatever we choose, hosting and data location are decided with you. Many Austrian firms prefer EU hosting for customer data, and we plan for that.

To start a build we usually need the following from you:

  • Logo, brand colors and any existing style guide.
  • Text for the core pages, or a person who can approve our drafts.
  • Your lawyer's text for Impressum, privacy and terms.
  • Access to the domain, hosting or store accounts, or the decision to create new ones in your name.

Remote delivery, Austrian hours

  1. Short callWe scope pages, integrations and languages, then send a fixed quote within one working day.
  2. Design and textYou review designs in German. We can build around your text or flag where Austrian wording is needed.
  3. Build with weekly demosA demo each week at a time that suits Vienna mornings, with one lead as your single contact.
  4. Launch and handoverRedirects, consent, tracking and legal pages checked, then code and accounts handed to you.

Vienna is 3.5 or 4.5 hours behind India depending on the season, so a 10:00 call in Austria is 13:30 or 14:30 for us.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and extra work is billed at $30 an hour. Page count, languages, integrations and custom features move the price. For ranges by type of build, see the website cost guide and the web app cost guide.

Quotes are fixed after a short call. If the scope grows, we show the change and its cost before doing the work. Invoices are in US dollars. Austrian business customers usually handle USt on services from outside the EU through the reverse charge procedure, and your Steuerberater can confirm how that applies to you.

Questions, answered

Can the site be in German and English?
Yes. We set up de-AT as the main version and add English where you need it, with hreflang so search engines show the right one.
Do I need to use Austrian hosting?
No rule forces it, but many customers prefer EU hosting. We choose hosting with you and document where data is stored.
Does my site need to follow the accessibility law?
It depends on what you offer and the size of your business. The BaFG covers many online shops and some services, with an exemption for microenterprises providing services. Ask your lawyer, and we build to WCAG 2.2 AA either way.
Who owns the code and accounts?
You do. Hosting, domain and store accounts are created in your name, and the code goes to your repository.
Do you have an office in Austria?
No. We work remotely from Pune, with calls booked in Austrian working hours.
