In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI chatbots, AI agents and workflow automation for Austrian companies, working remotely from India. Projects begin with a short call and a fixed quote, then run in weekly demos. Each build takes GDPR, the EU AI Act and German-language quality into account, with data handling documented for your Datenschutz officer or lawyer.

Where Austrian firms use AI first

Most requests we see in this market are practical: answering repeated customer questions, sorting inbound email, reading invoices and delivery notes, drafting quotes and keeping the CRM current. Austria is a country of small and mid-sized firms, so the saving usually comes from removing hours of copying data between tools, not from a large research project.

The language matters. A model that answers well in German can still sound wrong to a customer in Linz if it uses German terms or the wrong register. We test with Austrian examples, and we decide with you whether the tone should be formal (Sie) or friendly (du).

  • Sorting inbound email and creating tickets with the right priority.
  • Reading supplier invoices and entering the data in your accounting tool.
  • Drafting replies to common enquiries for a person to approve.
  • Updating the CRM after calls and meetings.
  • Preparing weekly summaries from sales, stock or support data.

Workflows are built in n8n, Make or Zapier. n8n can run on a server you control in the EU, which some Austrian firms prefer for data control. Make and Zapier are quicker to start with and easier for non-technical staff to edit.

Austrian compliance points we plan for

TopicAustrian or EU contextWhat we do
Personal dataGDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act; the authority is the DatenschutzbehördeData map, minimal fields sent to the model, retention rules
TransfersOur team is in India; transfers outside the EU need a legal basis such as standard contractual clausesData processing agreement and access limited to what the project needs
Chatbot disclosureThe EU AI Act sets transparency duties for systems that talk to peopleClear 'you are talking to an AI' notice and a human hand-off
Staff dataSystems that process employee data can involve the Betriebsrat under labour lawFlag early, so approval does not stall launch
InvoicesAustrian invoices carry a UID number and 20% USt; the public sector uses the ebInterface formatField extraction tested on your own documents

This is project planning, not legal advice. Confirm the exact obligations with your lawyer or data protection officer.

To our knowledge India is not on the EU's list of adequacy decisions, so transfers to our team rely on contractual safeguards. The list can change, so check the current position with your adviser.

How a project runs

  1. Scope callOne process, one measurable outcome, the tools involved and the data that must not leave the EU.
  2. Prototype on your dataA working version tested on real German-language examples, including messy ones.
  3. EvaluationA written test set so quality is measured, not guessed, and changes can be compared.
  4. Launch and monitorLogging, fallbacks and a named owner on your side. Humans approve anything that has legal or financial effect.

Reading about frameworks? Our AI agent versus chatbot comparison explains which fits.

Human review stays in the loop wherever a mistake costs money or trust: legal wording, refunds, price quotes and anything posted to a public channel.

Time zone and pricing

Calls are booked in Vienna working hours, which fall in the afternoon in India: 10:00 in Austria is 13:30 in summer and 14:30 in winter for us. Work is remote, there is no Austrian office, and you own the code, prompts and accounts.

Projects start at $1,500, extra work is $30 an hour and you get a fixed quote within one working day of the call. Model usage costs are paid by you directly to the provider. See the AI automation cost guide for ranges.

Model costs are paid by you to the provider. We estimate them from your real volumes before you commit, so the monthly running cost is known in advance.

Questions, answered

Can the AI run fully inside the EU?
Often yes. Some providers offer EU data residency, and we can choose those. We tell you plainly which part of a design cannot stay in the EU before you sign.
Does the AI work in Austrian German?
Current models handle German well. We test your own Austrian terms, set the tone you want and add a glossary for product names and local words.
Do we need approval from our works council?
Only if the system processes employee data or monitors staff. Customer-facing tools usually do not, but check with your HR lead or lawyer.
Will customers know they are talking to AI?
Yes. We add a clear notice and an easy route to a person. This also fits the EU AI Act transparency rules.
Which tools do you use?
OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude) APIs for the models, with n8n, Make or Zapier for workflows and your existing CRM or helpdesk.
