In short

Liftup Technologies provides local SEO for businesses in Germany, working remotely from India. We optimize your Google Unternehmensprofil, write German pages for each city and district you serve, correct listings such as Gelbe Seiten and Das Örtliche, and check the Impressum and privacy pages. Review requests follow DSGVO guidance. A fixed quote follows a short call, within one working day.

Local search in a country of many cities

Germany has no single dominant metropolis. Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt all matter, and so do mid-sized cities such as Leipzig or Stuttgart. Customers search with the city name and often a district: 'Zahnarzt München Schwabing', 'Steuerberater Köln Ehrenfeld'. They also search 'in meiner Nähe' on mobile, where the map pack decides the click.

Trust matters in the German market. Buyers prefer businesses that look established, show complete details and have a good review count. Weak or missing details are read as a warning sign.

BusinessTypical searchLocal focus
Arztpraxis or ZahnarztZahnarzt in der Nähe, Termin onlineProfile accuracy, booking link, review volume
HandwerkerElektriker Notdienst LeipzigService area, emergency hours, tappable phone number
Steuerberater and AnwaltSteuerberater Frankfurt BockenheimExpert pages, credentials, local district terms
Restaurant and retailCafé Altona, Boutique DüsseldorfPhotos, menu or stock info, hours and holidays

Regional differences are real. Bavaria, Nordrhein-Westfalen and the eastern Länder each have their own dialects, public holidays and customer habits. A Handwerker in Dresden should not use Hamburg vocabulary. We check holiday calendars by Bundesland, since Feiertage differ, and keep opening hours accurate on those days.

Appointments carry weight too. Many German practices run on booking systems such as Doctolib or Jameda. Where yours does, we connect the booking link to your profile and site, so a searcher can move from map to appointment in two taps. Where it does not, a clear phone number and call-back form do the job.

German requirements for a local business site

  • Impressum: German sites must show a clear provider identity with address, contact route and register or tax details where applicable. Missing or incomplete notices are a common reason for formal warnings. We build the page, and your lawyer confirms the content for your legal form.
  • Datenschutzerklärung: the privacy notice must match what the site actually does, including maps, forms and analytics.
  • Cookie consent: non-essential cookies and tags need consent before they run. We configure tag loading accordingly.
  • Address format: street and house number, five-digit PLZ, city. Keep it identical across profile, site and directories.
  • Berufsrecht: doctors, lawyers and tax advisers have rules on how they advertise. Check these before we publish claims or comparisons.

German law on advertising is strict about comparisons and superlatives, so we keep claims factual. The statute texts are published at gesetze-im-internet.de, linked below.

Reviews, DSGVO and the German consumer

German customers read reviews closely, and Google's own rules ban fake and incentivised ratings. We build a review request that goes to every customer, offers nothing in exchange and replies in a polite, formal register using Sie. Replies never repeat customer data.

A review request is a message to a person, so DSGVO and the rules on electronic marketing apply. Email requests to existing customers may be allowed in some cases and not in others, so we agree the approach with you and your data protection adviser. SMS or a printed card with a QR code often avoids the question.

Monthly work

  1. AnalyseWe check your profile, listings, site and the competitors who appear for your searches.
  2. GrundlagenWe correct names, addresses and phone numbers and complete the profile fully.
  3. OrtsseitenWe write German pages for each city or district with real local information.
  4. BewertungenWe set up an honest request process and reply templates.
  5. BerichtWe send a report of calls, route requests and visibility, in English or German.

A native German reader reviews all copy. Our local SEO checklist holds the full task list.

Reports are short and factual, in the form of a one-page summary: Anrufe, Routenanfragen and Website-Klicks from your profile, next to the changes we made that month. You can compare them with your own appointment book and decide whether the work pays.

Collaboration and pricing

Germany is 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind Pune, so your morning is our afternoon. Calls are booked in your office hours, and reports are written in plain language. Projects start at $1,500, with extra work at $30 an hour. The price depends on locations, districts to cover and the amount of German copy needed. The local SEO cost guide lists typical ranges, and the local SEO service page lists deliverables. For broader organic work, see SEO in Germany.

Questions, answered

Do I need an Impressum on every page?
It must be easy to reach from every page, usually by a footer link. The exact content depends on your legal form, so confirm it with your lawyer.
Will you write in German?
Yes. Copy is written in German and checked by a native reader before publication.
Are Gelbe Seiten and Das Örtliche worth it?
They add citations and some traffic, mainly from older customers. We keep them accurate but focus first on the Google profile.
Can I ask customers by email for reviews?
Sometimes, under strict conditions. We suggest QR cards or SMS and check the email route with your data protection adviser.
Who owns the Google profile?
You do. We are added as a manager.
