In short
Liftup Technologies provides Shopify SEO for US stores, working remotely from India with an office in New York. We audit collections, products, URLs, theme speed and structured data, fix what is within the theme and apps, and set up Google and Microsoft product feeds. Progress is measured in Search Console and Merchant Center. A fixed quote follows a short call.
What usually holds a Shopify store back
Shopify handles many SEO basics for you, such as a sitemap, canonical tags and secure checkout. The problems we find come from the layers added on top: themes, apps, collections built by habit and product data copied from a supplier. This is the shortlist we check first on a US store.
| Issue | Why it matters | Typical fix |
|---|---|---|
| Thin collection pages | Collections are often the pages that match shopping searches, yet many hold only a product grid | Add a short intro and a buying guide below the grid, with links to related collections |
| Filter and tag URLs | Faceted filters and tag pages can create many near-copies | Decide which filters deserve indexable pages and set the rest to noindex or canonical |
| Supplier descriptions | The same text appears on dozens of retailer sites | Rewrite top sellers first, with sizing, materials and use cases |
| App scripts | Review, popup and upsell apps add JavaScript that slows phones | Remove apps that are not earning their keep and delay the rest |
| Missing product data | Feeds and rich results need brand, identifiers, price and availability | Complete the product fields and check structured data in Search Console |
Our Shopify SEO service page describes the full scope, and the Shopify SEO checklist is the document we audit against.
Duplicate URLs and the theme
A Shopify product can be reached through its own address and through a path under each collection that lists it. Themes normally point the collection version at the main product address with a canonical tag, which is the right behavior, but custom themes and edits sometimes break it. We check this in the rendered HTML, not only in the theme settings. We also look at the redirects created when handles change, at pagination, at the robots.txt template and at how the theme outputs headings, since some themes use heading tags for styling and leave the page without a clear main heading.
Speed matters because shoppers use phones. We read the field data in Search Console's Core Web Vitals report, find the heaviest scripts and images, and fix the template rather than add another speed app. See the technical SEO page for the US for how we approach this across platforms.
Google and Microsoft product feeds
For US stores, free product listings in Google Merchant Center can bring traffic beyond ordinary search results, and a paid Shopping campaign uses the same feed. The feed needs accurate titles, prices, availability, shipping and return information that match the product page. Mismatches cause disapprovals, so we compare the feed with the site on a schedule. Microsoft Merchant Center feeds the Bing shopping results, and Bing has a bigger share in the US than in many other countries, so setting it up is usually worth an afternoon.
- Shipping and tax settings in the feed follow your actual store rules, which your accountant confirms for sales tax.
- Return policy details appear both in Merchant Center and on a readable page of the site.
- Product identifiers such as GTIN are filled in where the manufacturer has them.
- Reviews shown on the page must be real, in line with the FTC's rule on fake reviews and testimonials.

Retail search peaks in a rhythm. For 2026, Thanksgiving falls on 26 November, Black Friday on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November. Pages that need to rank for gift and sale searches should be live and indexed well before then, so in a normal year we aim to finish collection and gift-guide work by mid-September. Evergreen sale landing pages work better than new addresses each year, because they keep their history. Code changes are frozen in the days around the sale so that checkout stays stable.
A missed window is not a disaster. We note what to prepare for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, back to school and the next holiday round, and we build that into the monthly plan. If you are also changing platform or theme, read the website migration checklist first.
