In short

Liftup Technologies provides technical SEO for Spanish websites, working remotely from India. The audit covers crawling, indexing, canonical and hreflang setup for Spanish and regional languages, Core Web Vitals, structured data and consent-safe tracking. You get a prioritized fix list, and we implement it or brief your developers. A fixed quote follows a short call.

Technical problems we see on Spanish sites

Some technical faults are universal. Others come from how Spanish sites are built: several languages on one URL, a cookie wall that blocks crawlers, accented characters in URLs, and old domains left running after a rebrand. The table lists the checks we run first.

CheckTypical Spanish causeFix
Duplicate versionshttp, https, www and non-www all live; .es and .com both indexedOne canonical host, 301 redirects, consistent internal links
Language signalsSpanish and Catalan content on the same URL, or hreflang pointing one waySeparate URLs per language and reciprocal hreflang
Accents in URLsÑ, á, é in slugs creating encoded or duplicate pathsOne slug rule, redirect old forms

Thin parameter pagesFilters and sort options creating thousands of URLsNoindex or block low-value combinations
Slow mobile pagesHeavy sliders, many tracking tags, unoptimized imagesRemove, defer and compress

Hreflang for Spain, regional languages and Latin America

Hreflang tells Google which version of a page suits which audience. For Spain the common values are es-ES for Castilian Spanish and ca-ES, eu-ES and gl-ES for Catalan, Basque and Galician, though you should confirm the exact codes against Google's documentation before launch. If you also serve Latin America, add es-MX, es-AR or es-419 as needed, each with its own content.

  • Every tag must point to a live, indexable page that points back.
  • Use one self-referencing tag per page, plus an x-default for the language selector.
  • Do not set hreflang between pages that are not true equivalents.
  • Keep canonical tags on the same URL as the hreflang entry.

Our hreflang generator helps create the tags, and international SEO covers site structure choices such as .es, subfolders or subdomains.

Consent without breaking measurement

The AEPD supervises cookie rules under LSSI-CE and GDPR, and rejecting should be as easy as accepting. A strict banner reduces the data you collect from analytics tools, so reports based on them can undercount. Google Search Console and server logs do not depend on cookies, which is why we use them as the base for SEO reports.

We check that the banner does not block crawlers from the content, that scripts really wait for consent, and that Consent Mode is set up if you run Google advertising in the EEA. Check the details with your lawyer; we handle the implementation.

Speed and structured data

We measure Core Web Vitals with field data where it exists and lab tests where it does not, with a focus on phones. Fixes usually come from images, fonts, third-party scripts and server response time. Our Core Web Vitals checklist lists the items.

Structured data helps search engines understand a business. For Spanish firms, the useful types are Organization, LocalBusiness with opening hours (including the midday break), Product with prices that match the page, FAQ where the page really has questions and answers, and breadcrumbs. We validate each type and remove markup that the page does not support.

Migrations and redesigns

A site move is the most expensive technical event. Spanish businesses often change domain from .com to .es, move from a builder to WordPress or Shopify, or merge old regional sites. We map every old URL to a new one, preserve titles and content that rank, test redirects before launch and watch Search Console afterward. The website migration checklist shows the order of work.

For one-off problems, such as pages not indexed or a sudden traffic drop, we begin with an audit and tell you plainly if the cause lies outside the site.

Working across the time gap, and price

We work remotely from India. Spain is three and a half hours behind in summer and four and a half in winter, so calls take place in your morning. You receive a written fix list ranked by effort and impact, plus short updates as items are completed.

Projects start at $1,500, and extra work is $30 an hour. Site size, number of languages and whether we implement fixes or hand a brief to your developers move the quote. See technical SEO for the general service, then request a fixed quote on the contact page. Prices are in US dollars.

Questions, answered

Do I need an audit before any fixes?
Yes. The audit shows which problems affect crawling and indexing and which are cosmetic. It also gives the quote a firm basis.
Will fixing technical SEO raise my rankings?
It removes obstacles. Rankings also depend on content, links and competition, so we do not promise a position.
Can you work with my developers?
Yes. We write tickets with the exact change, a test to confirm it, and the reason, so developers can deploy without guesswork.
Is .es better than .com for Spain?
A .es domain is a clear local signal, but it is not required. Structure and content matter more, and a move between domains needs a careful redirect plan.
Do you check AI crawler access?
Yes. We review robots.txt and rendering for AI crawlers as part of the audit. See AI search optimization in Spain.
