In short
Liftup Technologies provides Shopify SEO for New Zealand stores, working remotely from India. We audit collection and product pages, duplicate URLs, themes and apps, add schema, set up markets for NZD and Australia with correct language tags, and improve speed. We report from Search Console and your sales data. Calls fall in your afternoon. You get a fixed quote after a short call.
Where Shopify stores lose search traffic
Shopify gives you sitemaps, canonical tags and mobile-friendly themes by default. Stores still lose ground in familiar ways: thin collection pages with no text, duplicate product URLs through collection paths, heavy apps that slow pages, variant pages that compete with each other and product titles copied from suppliers. Our Shopify SEO checklist lists the checks, and the Shopify SEO service page describes the work.
| Issue | What it looks like | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Thin collections | A grid of products with no intro or guidance | Add helpful copy, filters and links to related collections |
| Duplicate URLs | Same product under /collections/... and /products/... | Use canonical product links in the theme |
| Supplier copy | Descriptions identical to other stores | Write original descriptions with real details |
| App bloat | Many scripts slowing mobile pages | Remove or replace what is unused |
| Faceted URLs | Tag and filter combinations indexed | Control with canonicals and robots rules |
| Weak markup | Missing price, stock or review data | Add valid Product schema |
Collections deserve the most attention. A collection page such as women's merino or farm gate hardware often matches the searches with the most volume, yet many stores leave it as a bare grid. We add a short introduction, buying guidance, sensible filters and links to related collections, and we keep the product grid above the fold so shoppers are not pushed down the page. Product pages then carry the detail: sizes, materials, care, delivery and a clear price.
Kiwi shoppers and Kiwi search terms
Search wording differs from other English-speaking markets. Shoppers may look for jandals rather than flip-flops, chilly bins rather than coolers or a dairy rather than a convenience store. Spelling follows British conventions. Product pages and collection titles should use the words your customers use, and category names should match the way people in New Zealand describe items. We check actual search data rather than guess.
Seasons are reversed from the northern hemisphere, so winter ranges and summer ranges peak in different months than most global advice suggests. Public holidays such as Waitangi Day, Matariki and Boxing Day shape demand, and content should be ready weeks beforehand.
NZD, Australia and Shopify Markets
Many Kiwi stores sell to Australia as well. Shopify offers market settings for currency, domains and languages, and the choices affect search. We decide whether a single store with subfolders or a separate domain suits you, set currency and shipping by country, and add language tags for en-NZ and en-AU only where pages really differ. Our hreflang generator can help with checking, and details of what your plan supports are on Shopify's help pages.
Prices for New Zealand shoppers should show NZ dollars with 15% GST included. Product feeds for Google Merchant Center should match the visible price, stock and shipping, because mismatches cause disapprovals. Our ecommerce SEO page for New Zealand covers shopping feeds and seasonal planning.
Shipping rules shape the shopper's decision. Rural delivery, the North and South Island split and cut-off times before public holidays should appear on product and cart pages in plain words. Courier options such as NZ Post and Aramex vary by account, so state only what your store offers.

Get my fixed quoteSpeed, trust pages and legal basics
Speed matters on mobile networks, so we test themes and apps on mid-range phones and trim what is not needed. Trust pages also help search and sales: clear delivery information, returns policy, contact details, NZBN and a privacy statement. The Fair Trading Act 1986 prohibits misleading conduct, so sale prices and stock claims must be true. The CGA, a 1993 consumer-rights statute, gives buyers automatic rights, so returns pages should not promise less. Your lawyer should approve final wording.
Customer data brings the Privacy Act 2020 into play. Information privacy principle 12 covers disclosure outside New Zealand, and many Shopify apps send data overseas, so list them. Marketing email signups need consent under the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
How we work
- AuditCrawl, Search Console, speed tests and a review of apps and theme code.
- PrioritiesFixes ranked by revenue effect and effort.
- ImplementTheme edits, collection copy, schema and redirects, tested on a duplicate theme.
- ReportMonthly view of clicks, orders from search and next actions.
New Zealand is 6.5 or 7.5 hours ahead of India, so your afternoon is our morning. We work remotely and have no New Zealand office. If you also need the build side, see Shopify development in New Zealand.
Reporting ties back to money. We connect Search Console clicks to orders where your analytics allows it, so you can see which collections bring buyers and which only bring visits. That guides the next month's work and keeps effort on pages that sell.
Cost
Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour, in US dollars. Product count, collections, languages and markets move the quote. The ecommerce SEO cost guide explains the drivers. Ask your accountant how GST applies to services bought from overseas.
