In short

Liftup Technologies builds custom web apps for Italian businesses, working remotely from India with calls booked in your morning. The scope covers requirements, design, development in Next.js or React with a database back end, logins and roles, Italian formats, links to invoicing and CRM tools, and EU hosting choices. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

What Italian businesses ask us to build

The brief usually starts with a spreadsheet that has outgrown itself. A manufacturer tracks customer orders and production slots in a shared file that three people edit at once. A distributor takes price-list requests by email. A clinic or training center manages bookings and documents on paper. A custom web app replaces the file with a system that has logins, history and rules.

Italian specifics built in

  • Formats. Dates as day, month, year, numbers like 1.234,56 and euro amounts with the symbol the way Italians write it. Codice fiscale and Partita IVA fields are validated.
  • Invoicing. Electronic invoices go through the SdI system. We connect the app to your invoicing software or provider through its API or file export, instead of building a competing tool.
  • Identity. Portals for citizens or public bodies may need SPID or CIE login. We assess this at scoping and say if it needs a specialist integration.
  • Privacy. GDPR applies, with the Garante as supervisor. We set roles, access logs, retention and deletion, and keep a record of processors. Hosting can be placed in an EU region.
  • Accessibility. Business apps used by the public fall under the European Accessibility Act from 28 June 2025 in many cases. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and test with the keyboard.

Build or buy first

Before building, check whether an existing product covers 80 percent of the need. Our guide on custom AI versus off-the-shelf uses the same logic for AI, and it holds for apps. Build when your process is a real advantage, when the tools you tried fight you, or when data must connect several systems. Otherwise buy and integrate. We tell you honestly which side your case falls on, even when that means a smaller project for us.

A practical rule: build the part that touches money or customers first. A dealer portal that shows orders and stock saves calls every day, while an elaborate reporting screen can wait. We also plan the data migration early, because cleaning old spreadsheet data often takes longer than writing screens, and mistakes there reach every user.

Technology and delivery

LayerTypical choiceWhy
Front endNext.js or ReactFast, accessible, easy to hire for later
Back endNode or a managed back endMatches the front end and keeps code in one language
DatabasePostgreSQLReliable, with EU-region hosting available
AuthEmail login, roles, optional SSO or SPIDFits staff, dealers and the public
Automationn8n or Make for glue workFaster than custom code for simple links

We start with a thin first release, put it in front of real users, and extend from what they do. The cost of building the wrong feature is higher than the cost of waiting a few weeks.

Security and backups are part of the build, not an add-on. We plan password rules, role-based access, daily backups with a tested restore, and a short incident procedure that names who to call. For tools that hold personal data, we also keep an activity log so you can answer questions from customers or the Garante.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, and the rate is $30 an hour. After a short call you get a fixed quote within one working day. A first release of a focused tool costs far less than a full platform, and the main drivers are roles, integrations, reports and data migration. Hosting and third-party fees are paid by you. See the web app cost guide and our service page on web app development. Quotes are in US dollars. The same team also builds mobile apps for Italy if you need one.

Questions, answered

Can you replace our Excel workflow?
Yes, that is a common start. We import your data, model the rules, and run both side by side for a short time before switching.
Do you build in Italian?
Yes. The interface, emails and help text are in Italian, and other languages can be added.
Where is the data hosted?
We can use an EU region. Choose the region with your lawyer if your sector has special rules.
Who owns the code?
You do. The repository, hosting and database accounts are in your name from the start.
Can the app connect to our ERP or invoicing tool?
Often yes, through an API or file exchange. We check what your tools support at scoping.
