In short

Liftup Technologies builds custom web applications for Spanish businesses, working remotely from India. Typical projects are client portals, booking systems, internal dashboards and workflow tools, built with Next.js or React and a managed database. We handle roles, euro and IVA logic, Spanish interfaces and GDPR basics. Projects start at $1,500, with a fixed quote after a short call.

When a spreadsheet stops being enough

Spanish small firms often run on shared spreadsheets, email threads and WhatsApp groups. It works until two people edit the same row, a client asks for a status you cannot find, or an auditor wants to know who changed a record. A custom web app replaces that with one place, with logins and a history.

Not every problem needs custom code. If an existing tool does the job, we say so. Our build vs buy AI comparison applies the same thinking, and the general web app development service page lists what we build.

Before building, we ask what the app must do on day one and what can wait. A first release with three solid features is easier to launch, test and improve than a large system with fifteen half-working ones.

Typical Spanish projects

AppWho uses itSpain-specific detail
Client portalGestorías, law firms, consultanciesSecure document upload, status tracking, access logs
Booking and resourcesClinics, sports facilities, coworkingCalendars, cancellation rules, reminders in Spanish
Quote and order toolInstallers, distributors, manufacturersPrice lists in euros, IVA handled per line, PDF export
Internal operationsConstruction, logistics, servicesRoles for office and field staff, mobile-friendly screens
Member platformAssociations, schools, clubsMemberships, payments, communications

IVA rates vary by product and territory, and the Canary Islands use a different indirect tax. If your app calculates tax, we build the rules as data you can change, and your gestor confirms the logic.

One more Spanish detail: public-sector and large-company customers sometimes ask suppliers for security questionnaires. Keeping a short written description of how the app stores data, who can access it and how backups work saves days when that request arrives.

Privacy, security and access

A web app holds more personal data than a brochure site, so the basics must be right from the start. GDPR and the LOPDGDD apply, with the AEPD as supervisor. We design for data minimization, role-based access, audit logs and defined retention.

  • Roles and permissions: staff see what their job needs.
  • Encryption in transit and at rest, with secrets kept out of code.
  • Backups tested by restoring them.
  • A way to export or delete one person's data when asked.
  • Hosting in an EU region where your contracts require it.

If the app is for the public and falls under accessibility rules, we build to WCAG 2.2 AA. The European Accessibility Act affects some consumer services, and your lawyer decides whether yours is one.

We also set up basic monitoring: error alerts, uptime checks and a log of important actions. If something fails at 9:00 on a Monday in Madrid, you hear about it from the alert, not from a customer.

Technology choices

We usually build the interface in Next.js or React, with a managed database and authentication service. We choose the simplest stack that your team can maintain. For apps that need phone features, we pair the web app with a mobile app. The Spanish interface is built with a proper translation layer, so adding Catalan or English later is straightforward.

Integrations are often the hard part. Spanish firms commonly need to connect to accounting software, payment providers such as Redsys-based gateways, and carrier systems. We list integrations in the first call and quote them separately.

Documentation is part of the work. You receive a short architecture note, a list of environment settings, deployment steps and a guide to the data model, so another developer can pick the project up without us.

How a project runs from India

  1. DiscoveryA short workshop on users, data and the first release. Fixed quote within one working day.
  2. PrototypeClickable screens in Spanish for users to try.
  3. Build in weekly releasesA new version on a staging link every week.
  4. Test with real usersYour team uses the app on real tasks and we fix what breaks.
  5. Launch and supportProduction release, monitoring and a handover of code and documentation.

Review calls take place in the Spanish morning. Spain trails India by three and a half hours in summer and four and a half in winter.

Between releases you see a short written summary and the current to-do list, so there are no surprises about scope or timing.

Price

Projects start at $1,500, and extra work is $30 an hour. Number of user roles, integrations and reports move the quote. The web app cost guide gives the main drivers. For a quote, use the contact page. Prices are in US dollars.

Questions, answered

How long does a web app take?
A focused first version often takes a couple of months. A narrow internal tool can be quicker, and a platform with many roles takes longer.
Can the app issue legal invoices?
Spanish invoicing rules for software are changing, so confirm with your gestor first. We can prepare invoice data and integrate with a certified invoicing tool.
Can data be hosted in the EU?
Yes. We choose EU regions for hosting and the database when your contracts or sector require it.
Who owns the source code?
You do. The code repository and accounts are in your name from the start or at handover.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes, at $30 an hour, for fixes, updates and new features.
Can the app work offline?
Some can. Offline support adds scope, so we only include it where field staff really lose signal, and we describe the limits.
