In short

Liftup Technologies develops WordPress and WooCommerce sites for Italian businesses, working remotely from India with calls booked in your morning. The scope covers a custom or lightly customized theme, Italian locale, consent and legal pages, plugin selection, speed and security. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call, and the site and hosting accounts are yours.

Why WordPress is common in Italy

Many Italian company websites run on WordPress. Local web studios, freelancers and hosting providers know it well, there are many Italian-speaking editors, and the software is free to own. The weakness is what builds up over the years: dozens of plugins, an abandoned theme, no updates, and a slow, fragile site that nobody dares to touch. Our work is either a clean build or a rescue of that situation.

The Italian market adds its own habits. Sites are often built with a heavy page builder and many add-ons, then handed between a few freelancers. Documentation is rare. We write a one-page site manual covering hosting, accounts, plugins, the update routine and who to call, so the next person does not start from zero.

What we deliver

  • A theme built for your content, not a page-builder maze, with editing blocks your team understands.
  • Italian locale (it_IT) set across admin, front end, emails and date formats.
  • A short, reviewed plugin list, each with a reason to exist, and no nulled or pirated plugins.
  • A consent banner and cookie policy wired to your actual tags.
  • Backups, updates, security hardening and a staging copy for testing changes.
  • WooCommerce for shops that need it, with IVA, shipping and invoice fields set up.

Our WordPress security checklist is the base for the hardening step.

Requirements that matter on a WordPress site in Italy

RequirementWhere it shows up in WordPressWhat we do
Garante cookie guidelines (2021)Analytics, embeds, pixels, video playersConsent tool such as iubenda or Cookiebot, set so scripts wait for consent and reject is as easy as accept
Business identificationFooter, contact page, invoicesCompany name, seat, Partita IVA and registry details in a reusable footer block
Privacy notice on formsContact and newsletter formsLink to the informativa and a consent field where needed
Accessibility (EAA from 28 June 2025 for many shops and services)Theme, forms, menus, pluginsWCAG 2.2 AA tests on templates and a plugin review for accessibility problems
Consumer rules for shopsWooCommerce checkout and emails14-day withdrawal text, clear price with IVA, order emails in Italian

We set up the elements and the wiring. Wording for legal pages should come from your lawyer.

Performance gets attention at this stage too. We compress images, load fonts sparingly, cut unused scripts, and test on mid-range phones, using the Core Web Vitals checklist as the reference. Speed helps visitors and search visibility at once.

Rescue, rebuild or replace

If you already have a WordPress site, the first step is a review. We look at the theme, the plugins, the speed, the editing experience and the hosting. Three outcomes are common: clean up and keep, rebuild the theme on the same content, or move to another platform. The Webflow versus WordPress comparison helps with that last decision. When structure changes, we keep Italian URLs that earned traffic, add redirects and check Search Console after launch. See also website redesign in Italy.

Whichever route we take, you get a written list of what was changed and why, so the decision is visible to everyone who owns the site.

How a project runs from India

  1. ReviewA call and a short audit of the existing site, or a brief for a new one.
  2. Fixed quoteWithin one working day, with design, build and launch phases.
  3. Build on stagingWeekly demos. Your editors test the admin early, in Italian.
  4. LaunchBackups, redirects, consent checks and speed checks.
  5. HandoverShort training videos and an update plan.

Work happens in the Indian afternoon, which overlaps with Italian mornings. A call at 10:00 in Rome is 13:30 in India in summer and 14:30 in winter.

Editors are trained on the real site, not on a demo, using their own content.

Pricing

WordPress projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call. Price moves with the number of templates, languages, WooCommerce features and integrations. Hosting, domain and premium plugin licences are paid by you directly. The WordPress website cost guide lists the factors, and the main page on WordPress development describes the service. Quotes are in US dollars.

If you want ongoing care after launch, updates, backups and small changes can run at the same hourly rate.

Questions, answered

Do you work with page builders such as Elementor?
Yes, when the team already uses one or when it suits the project. We prefer lean custom blocks for speed and maintainability.
Can you fix a hacked or slow WordPress site?
Yes. We clean up, update, harden and then set up backups and monitoring. If the damage is deep, a rebuild may be cheaper.
Which hosting do you recommend for Italy?
A host with EU data centers, daily backups and PHP updates. Many Italian hosts fit. We recommend one after a review of traffic and budget.
Will my editors be able to work in Italian?
Yes. The admin and front end are set to it_IT, and editing blocks use clear Italian labels.
Who owns the code and the site?
You do. Hosting, domain and admin accounts are yours, and the theme code is handed over.
