In short

Liftup Technologies provides Shopify SEO for stores in the Netherlands, working remotely from India. We fix duplicate URLs and thin collection pages, set up Dutch and English versions with Shopify Markets and hreflang, add product schema, improve speed and write category content that matches Dutch searches. A fixed quote follows a short call, and projects start at $1,500.

How Shopify behaves for search

Shopify handles many basics well: it creates sitemaps, uses secure connections and offers decent speed out of the box. It also has known quirks. Products can appear under several addresses, depending on the collection path. Tag and filter pages can create thin variations. Titles and descriptions often repeat across variants. Left alone, these dilute your pages and waste crawl time.

Our work begins with a crawl of the live store, a look at Search Console, and a list of what to fix. Our Shopify SEO checklist shows the items, and the guide to improving SEO for a Shopify store explains the reasons.

Variants and bundles need attention as well. When colours or sizes live on separate product pages, we decide whether to merge them or give each its own distinct text, so Google does not see dozens of copies. For large catalogues, templates for titles and descriptions are built with variables and then checked by hand on top sellers.

Fixes we usually make

IssueWhy it hurtsFix
Product URLs under collection pathsDuplicates of the same pageCanonical to the main product URL and link to it in collections
Thin collection pagesLittle text for Dutch search termsUnique introductions and helpful buying guidance
Filter and tag URLsMany near-duplicate pagesNoindex or canonical rules, and cleaner filters
Repeated product titlesWeak match to what shoppers typeDutch titles built from product type, brand and key attribute
Missing product schemaNo rich results for price and stockProduct markup with price in EUR and availability
Heavy apps and imagesSlow mobile pagesRemove unused apps, compress images, lazy load below the fold

Every change is tested on a duplicate theme before it goes live, so the store is never put at risk for a small gain.

Blog and guide content can support the shop when it answers real buying questions, such as how to choose a size, how to care for a material or which option suits a small space. We link those guides to the relevant collections and products, and we skip topics where the store has no authority.

Dutch and international setup

Dutch shoppers search in Dutch, even if they read English well. A store in English only misses many of those searches. Shopify lets you add languages and markets, giving each version its own address and prices. We check that hreflang tags are correct, that currency and shipping are right per market, and that the Dutch text is natural, not a raw machine translation. If you serve Flanders as well, we decide whether a separate nl-BE version adds value.

Prices shown to consumers should include btw, and the Dutch checkout should offer iDEAL. These details affect conversion more than ranking, but they also shape how shoppers judge your page when they arrive from search. Details of the build are on the Shopify development page.

Consent affects reviews and tracking apps too. Apps that load third-party scripts should wait for consent, and their privacy details should appear in your policy. This also keeps the theme lighter on first load.

Competing with Bol.com and big retailers

For many products, Bol.com appears near the top of Dutch results. Trying to outrank it on the same broad terms is rarely sensible. We aim at searches where a specialist store wins: precise product types, buying advice, comparisons, local delivery and brand-plus-model terms. Strong category guides, honest product copy and real photos give you a reason to be chosen. See ecommerce SEO in the Netherlands for the broader plan.

Seasonal timing matters too. Sinterklaas on 5 December, Black Friday and the summer holidays each create shopping peaks, and category pages should be ready weeks before they start.

Reporting and working hours

We report on impressions, clicks, ranking for target terms, organic orders and revenue from your Shopify and Search Console data. Cookie consent can reduce tracked sessions, so we also compare store orders directly. The Netherlands is 3.5 hours behind India in summer and 4.5 in winter, so calls sit in your morning. Our reports note what changed and what we plan next, and we do not promise rankings.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. A review with fixes for a small store is at the start of the range. Large catalogues, many languages and ongoing content raise the price. See the Shopify SEO service and the ecommerce SEO cost guide.
