Schema generator

Schema markup generator

Pick a type, fill in the fields that match your page, and copy valid JSON-LD. The generator leaves out empty fields so you never publish a blank value.

In short

The schema markup generator creates JSON-LD structured data for common page types: Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, Article, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList. You choose a type, fill in fields that match what is visible on the page, and copy the code into the page head. Empty fields are dropped so the output stays valid.

What the generator produces

Schema markup is structured data that describes a page in a format machines read easily. We use JSON-LD, a script block that sits in the head or body and does not alter what visitors see. Search engines and AI answer engines use it to confirm what a page is about and who is behind it.

The generator builds one block per run. If a page needs two, such as an Article with breadcrumbs, run it twice and place both blocks on the page.

Which type fits which page

TypeUse onFields to fill firstRich result notes
OrganizationHome or about pageName, URL, logo, profile linksSupports knowledge panel signals; no direct display feature
LocalBusinessContact or location pageName, address, phone, opening hoursAddress and name are core; keep them identical to your listings
ProductProduct pageName, image, description, offer price and currency, availabilityNeeds an offer, review or rating to qualify for product results
ArticleBlog post or guideHeadline, author, publish and modified dates, imageNo required fields; dates and author help clarity
FAQPageA page with questions you answerEach question and answer exactly as shownGoogle now shows FAQ rich results for few sites; still useful as a clear signal
BreadcrumbListAny page below the home pageNames and URLs in orderShows the path in results

Rules the generator enforces

  • Every value must match text visible on the page. If a price is not on the page, it should not be in the markup.
  • Dates use the ISO format, year-month-day.
  • URLs are absolute and include the scheme.
  • Prices are numbers with a separate currency code.
  • Empty fields are removed, not output as blank strings.

Markup does not create rankings. It helps engines read a page accurately, and it can make a page eligible for some result features. Eligibility is not a promise that a feature will appear.

Worked example: a local service page

A fictional electrician fills in the LocalBusiness type with the trading name, street address, postcode, phone number and weekday hours, then adds the service area as a list of towns. The generator returns one block that includes the type, address as a nested postal address, hours as opening-hours entries and the area served.

Before pasting it, the electrician checks three things against the page: the name is spelled the same, the phone matches the footer, and the hours match the text on the page. The most common error is markup that says one thing while the page says another.

Testing your markup

  1. Paste the blockAdd it to the page head or just before the closing body tag.
  2. Run a validatorUse Google's Rich Results Test for features, and the Schema.org validator for general correctness.
  3. Check Search ConsoleAfter indexing, look at the enhancement reports for errors on the whole site.

For a full plan, see the schema markup checklist. The AI visibility checker tests whether engines can read the result, and technical SEO covers markup across a whole site.

Questions, answered

Is JSON-LD better than microdata?
JSON-LD is easier to maintain because it sits in one block apart from the page layout. Google recommends it, and the generator outputs only that format.
Can I add a rating to my Organization?
Only if the reviews are real, visible on the page and about the thing marked up. Self-written ratings can lead to a manual action, so leave them out if you are unsure.
Will schema get me a rich result?
It makes the page eligible, nothing more. Search engines decide whether to show a feature and it can change over time.
Do I need a developer?
Not for a single page. On a template-driven site, such as a store with thousands of products, the markup should be generated by the template, and that is a development task.

Need schema across the whole site?

We add and test it at template level and you get a fixed quote after a short call.
