In short
Liftup Technologies builds AI agents for Australian businesses, working remotely from India. An agent takes a goal, uses connected tools such as email, a CRM, a calendar or an accounting system, and completes steps with limits and approvals you set. We build on OpenAI or Claude models, test on your real cases, and give a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.
What an agent is, and when it is the wrong tool
A chatbot answers. An agent acts. It can look up a customer, check stock, draft a quote, book a time, and then report what it did. That power is the reason to be careful: a mistake in an agent changes records or sends messages, while a mistake in a chatbot is only a wrong sentence.
If a task follows fixed rules every time, ordinary AI automation is cheaper and easier to audit. An agent earns its place when the input is messy, such as a free-text email, and the path through the work changes from case to case. Our AI agent vs chatbot comparison sets out the difference in more detail.
Agent jobs we are asked about in Australia
| Job | What the agent does | Limit we set |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry triage for trades and clinics | Reads new enquiries, checks availability, proposes times | Offers times; staff confirm bookings |
| Quote preparation | Collects site details, pulls price lists, drafts a quote | Draft only; estimator approves before sending |
| Accounts payable support | Matches invoices to purchase orders, flags mismatches | Cannot pay or post without approval |
| Compliance document checks | Reviews licences and certificates against a checklist | Lists missing items; a person decides |
| Customer service back office | Looks up orders, drafts replies, starts refunds within a set amount | Refunds above the cap go to a person |
Guardrails that matter under Australian law
- Privacy Act 1988: the agent will read personal information. We limit each agent to the records it needs, log what it accessed, and review APP 8 if data goes to an overseas model provider or to our team in India.
- Australian Consumer Law: what an agent tells a customer about price, delivery or refunds is your statement. Replies on those topics come from approved policy text.
- Spam Act 2003: an agent that sends promotional email or SMS must respect consent and unsubscribe. We default to drafting rather than sending.
- Records and audit: every action is logged with the input, the tool used and the result, so a manager can see why something happened.
- Security: credentials sit in your accounts with narrow permissions, never in prompts.
Our AI agent security checklist lists the controls we apply, and the Australia AI page covers offshore access.

Get my fixed quoteBuild process
- Pick one jobWrite down the task, the inputs, the tools and what a good result looks like.
- Build with limitsSet tool permissions, spending or action caps, and the approval steps.
- Test on real casesReplay past cases, record where the agent fails, and fix prompts, tools or data.
- Pilot with oversightRun beside staff for a few weeks with every action reviewed.
- Reduce oversight slowlyRemove approvals only for action types that have run clean.
Review calls sit in your afternoon or morning. For example, 14:30 in Sydney during winter or 15:30 in daylight saving is 10:00 in India, and 12:30 in Perth is the same moment.
Choosing the first agent job
The best first job is narrow, frequent and easy to check. Good examples are sorting inbound enquiries for a trades business, preparing a first-pass quote from a price list, or matching supplier invoices to purchase orders. Poor first jobs are anything that moves money without review, anything that needs legal judgment, and anything where nobody can say what a correct result looks like.
We ask three questions before agreeing to build. How many times a week does this happen? What does a mistake cost? Who will review the agent's work in the first month? If the answers are vague, we suggest a smaller job or a plain workflow first. That saves you money, and it gives the agent a clean record before you give it more to do.
Many Australian small and mid-sized firms already keep their data in Xero, MYOB, HubSpot, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Agents connect to these through their official APIs, so no rebuild of your systems is needed. If you use a niche industry system without an API, we say so early and look at export files or a middle layer built in n8n or Make.
For the evaluation, we keep a set of real past cases, with names removed where possible, and run the agent on them after every change. The test set also catches regressions when a model provider updates a model, which happens often. You get the results in plain language, with examples of passes and failures, so you can judge readiness yourself.
Pricing
Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. One agent with two or three tools sits near the start. More tools, longer workflows, document reading, and test sets move the quote. Model and hosting costs are paid by you directly and estimated in the fixed quote. See the AI agent cost guide for typical effort, and the AI agent development service page for scope.
We avoid promising savings. Before building, we help you estimate hours currently spent and the cost of errors, then check the estimate again after the pilot.
