Social media marketing for Canadian brands

In short

Liftup Technologies provides social media marketing for Canadian brands, working remotely from India. We plan content calendars, design posts and short videos, write captions in English and French, run paid campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn, and set up lead capture that follows CASL. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call, and your accounts stay in your name.

Where Canadian brands spend their time

The right platform depends on the buyer. Consumer brands, restaurants, clinics and retailers usually start with Instagram and Facebook. Professional services, software and industrial firms lean on LinkedIn. Short video on TikTok, Reels and Shorts widens reach for products that demonstrate well. YouTube works as a long-term library for how-to content.

We recommend picking two platforms and doing them well for the first quarter instead of posting thinly on five. Our first call covers your buyers, your capacity to approve posts and the one measurable goal, such as booked consultations or store visits.

Content that fits Canada

Seasons shape the calendar: winter sport and snow prep, spring renovation, summer travel, back to school, Thanksgiving in October, Black Friday and Boxing Day. Posts should use Canadian spelling where your audience expects it, metric units, Canadian dollars and real local references rather than generic American ones.

For Quebec we write French content from scratch, not as a mechanical translation of English captions. A French-speaking reviewer checks tone and vocabulary. If the brand sells across the country, we tag posts by language and audience, so the French post reaches French speakers and the English post reaches English speakers, not both everywhere.

We also keep a reserve of evergreen posts, such as tips, product care and team introductions, for weeks when news or stock changes break the plan. A calendar with slack in it survives real life, and the brand does not go silent when a campaign slips.

Paid social and the rules that apply

Paid campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn bring faster reach than organic posts. We set clear goals, a testing budget and a stop rule before any spend. Creative is refreshed regularly to avoid fatigue, and we report cost per lead or booking, not just clicks.

  • The Competition Act covers misleading advertising, so claims, before-and-after prices and testimonials must be accurate and supportable.
  • Ads for housing, credit and employment have platform restrictions on targeting that we follow.
  • Influencer posts need clear disclosure of paid or gifted content.
  • Lead forms and DMs that collect email addresses need a consent basis under CASL for later commercial email.

General planning notes, not legal advice. Your lawyer confirms your obligations.

Lead capture without breaking CASL

CASL applies to commercial electronic messages: email, text and some social direct messages. The usual safe pattern is an unticked consent box on a form, a clear statement of who you are, and a working unsubscribe link in every message. We store the date, source and wording of consent for each contact.

Social platforms add their own lead forms, which pass contact details to your CRM. We check that the consent text appears on those forms and that the data reaches your system without being copied through personal inboxes. See our CRO checklist for landing page tests that raise conversion.

Production and approvals

  1. PlanA 30-day calendar with topics, formats and languages, reviewed on a call.
  2. CreateDesigned posts, short videos and captions made from your photos and facts.
  3. ApproveYou review in a shared board; nothing posts without your approval.
  4. Publish and learnWe schedule posts for local peak times and send a monthly report.

Because we work from India, we schedule for Canadian time zones and keep an overlap window with your morning: 9:00 in Vancouver is 22:30 in India in winter, so approvals from the west coast usually arrive overnight for us.

Reporting

We report reach, engagement and the results that matter: leads, calls, bookings and store visits where trackable. Numbers come from the platforms and your own analytics, and we call out which results are estimates. Social also supports SEO indirectly, so we link the work to your Canada SEO plan.

Each month ends with a short review call or video: what worked, what did not and what we will test next. Decisions are written down, so the following month starts from facts.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour, in US dollars. Posting frequency, video volume, languages and ad management move the quote. Ad spend is paid by you directly to the platform. Details are on the social media marketing service page.

Questions, answered

Do you post in French?
Yes, with a French-speaking reviewer. We write Quebec-style French rather than translating English captions word for word.
Do you need our account passwords?
No. You add us as a partner or admin with the platform's own access tools, and you can remove us at any time.
How many posts a week do you recommend?
For most small businesses, three to five good posts beat daily filler. We set the pace after the first call.
Can you run ads as well?
Yes, on Meta and LinkedIn, with spend and stop rules agreed before launch.
Will social media improve our Google rankings?
Not directly. It helps awareness, branded searches and content distribution, which can support SEO over time.
