In short

Liftup Technologies builds iOS and Android apps for Singapore businesses, working remotely from India with calls booked in Singapore working hours. We use React Native or Flutter for one codebase on both platforms, handle store submission under your developer accounts, and design consent and data handling around the PDPA. You receive a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

Who builds an app in Singapore, and why

Singapore has high smartphone use and a habit of doing everyday tasks on an app: ordering, booking, paying, tracking. That raises the bar for any business that wants a branded app. People will delete one that is slow, asks for too much or does nothing the website cannot do.

We also look at who will use the app and how often. A weekly-use app, such as a gym or clinic booking tool, needs different design choices from an app opened once a month. The answer decides how much to invest in push notifications, offline use and account features.

Typical projects we see are booking and membership apps for service firms, ordering apps for food and retail, companion apps for a physical product, internal staff apps for field teams, and early versions for startups testing a market. Before building, we ask whether a mobile-friendly site or a progressive web app would do the job. Our comparison of a PWA and a native app sets out the trade-offs.

Choosing the technology

OptionBest forTrade-off
React NativeTeams that also have a web app in React; most business appsA few platform features need native code
FlutterHighly custom interfaces and animationDifferent language (Dart); fewer shared parts with a web team
Native iOS or AndroidHeavy device features, games, specialist hardwareTwo codebases, higher cost
Progressive web appSimple tools, content, light bookingWeaker access to device features, no store presence

For most Singapore business apps we recommend React Native or Flutter, because one codebase halves the build and the upkeep. The backend is usually a Node.js or similar API with a managed database, and an admin panel so your staff can manage content and orders.

Local features to plan early

  • Payments. Cards are standard. PayNow and wallet flows depend on the payment provider and on how the checkout is built, so we confirm what your provider supports before design. Apple and Google also have their own rules for selling digital goods inside an app, which affect whether you can use an outside payment method.
  • Identity. Where you need to verify a customer, Singpass and Myinfo integration may be possible for eligible organizations. It requires an application and approval, so build time for that into the schedule.
  • Consent. The PDPA applies to sign-up forms, location, contacts and push notifications. We ask for permissions only when the feature needs them, and write the explanation in plain English.
  • NRIC numbers. PDPC guidance restricts collecting them unless required by law, so we avoid storing them.
  • Languages. English first, with Chinese or Malay screens if your customers need them. Layouts are built so longer text does not break buttons.

These are planning points. Your lawyer should confirm consent and identity requirements for your sector.

Store listings and launch

The app must be listed under your own Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, which we help you create and which stay in your name. We prepare screenshots, descriptions and privacy answers, and handle review feedback from Apple and Google. App store review times vary, so we plan some slack before your launch date. We also set up crash reporting and analytics, so you can see how the app performs after release.

How we work with a Singapore team

Singapore is 2.5 hours ahead of India. We hold calls in your afternoon, release a test build every one or two weeks through TestFlight and Google Play internal testing, and send a short written note after each demo. One lead owns delivery.

  1. ScopeFeatures, platforms, integrations and a clear first release.
  2. DesignFlows and screens, tested as a clickable prototype.
  3. BuildFortnightly test builds on your phone.
  4. ReleaseStore submission, review handling and launch.
  5. SupportFixes and updates at the same hourly rate.

Performance, testing and device coverage

Singapore users often have recent phones, but a business app still has to cope with older devices, patchy signal in lifts and basements, and a mix of iOS and Android versions. We test on a range of real devices and simulators, including slow-network conditions, and handle offline states gracefully instead of showing a blank screen.

We keep the app small and fast to open. Images are compressed, lists load in pages, and third-party code is added only when it earns its place. Crash reporting is set up from the first test build, so problems found by testers reach us with details instead of a vague message.

Accessibility is part of testing: text sizes that follow system settings, readable contrast, and labels that screen readers can use. These help older users as well, which matters for services aimed at a wide Singapore audience.

Before store submission we run through a checklist covering privacy answers, permissions text, test accounts for reviewers and the support link. Missing items are the most common cause of review delays, and they are easy to avoid.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour. Number of screens, backend work, integrations, admin panel and number of languages move the price. A first release with a narrow feature set costs far less than a full platform, and we usually recommend starting there. Store fees from Apple and Google are paid by you directly. See the mobile app development service page for what we cover. A web app is sometimes the cheaper first step, so see our web app cost guide for comparison, and our notes on SEO for mobile apps if discovery matters.

Questions, answered

Do I need separate iOS and Android apps?
Usually not. A React Native or Flutter app shares most code across both platforms, which lowers cost and keeps features in step.
Can the app accept PayNow?
It depends on your payment provider and the flow. We confirm what is supported for your business before design and test it in a staging build.
Will the app go on the stores under my name?
Yes. We set up your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts with you, and publish from them.
How long does an app take?
A focused first release often takes a couple of months, longer with a complex backend. The fixed quote includes a schedule, with allowance for store review.
Do you maintain the app after launch?
Yes, at the same hourly rate, or we hand over the code and documentation to your own team.
