SEO for real estate
SEO for real estate agencies that want seller leads of their own
Portals own buyer search. Agencies win on local knowledge: neighborhoods, valuations and agents people trust. We build the pages and signals that make that knowledge visible in search.

In short
SEO for a real estate agency works best on what portals cannot copy: neighborhood guides, market notes, agent profiles and valuation pages. Liftup Technologies builds those pages, cleans up how your listings feed is indexed, and tracks seller and buyer inquiries by page. Projects start at $1,500 and you get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.
Where an agency can still win
Searches such as houses for sale in a town are dominated by Zillow, Rightmove, Zoopla or realestate.com.au depending on the country. A single agency rarely beats them on listings alone. The gaps are seller-intent searches (what is my house worth, how to sell a house in a certain area), neighborhood searches (living in a suburb, schools, commuting) and brand searches for your agents.
Seller leads are worth more than buyer leads because one listing brings both. We aim pages at the seller early in their decision, when they are still choosing whom to call.
Pages and signals for a real estate site
| Page type | Search it answers | What makes it useful |
|---|---|---|
| Neighborhood or suburb guide | Living in a named area | Commute times, housing mix, local amenities you actually know |
| Valuation page | House value or sell my house in an area | Short form, what happens next, how long a valuation takes |
| Agent profile | Agent name or best agent in an area | Areas covered, recent sales you can show, direct contact |
| Market notes | Prices and trends in an area | Plain updates with the date and your source, no forecasts |
| Selling guides | How to sell, fees, staging | Your own process and fees explained plainly |
| Listings | Property searches | Fast pages with schema where your feed allows, no duplicate URLs |
Do not publish price predictions or percentage claims you cannot support. Local advertising and licensing rules apply to agents, so check with your lawyer or professional body before you publish agent titles or award claims.
What your agents need to supply
Search engines cannot invent local knowledge. The best suburb pages come from the people who walk the streets. We ask each agent for a short list of facts per area: which streets sell fastest, what buyers ask about schools or transport, what a typical first-time buyer can afford, and what sellers get wrong when they price a home.
We turn those answers into drafts that sound like the agent, then add structure: headings that match searches, a map, nearby links and a clear next step. Where an agent has recent sales in the suburb, we show them with the agent's name and, where your rules allow, the date. This is the content portals cannot copy, and it also gives AI search tools something specific to quote.
Choose your agent photos, names and phone numbers carefully. A profile page that shows a real person and a direct line often converts better than a form buried on a contact page. See our website design for real estate page if the profile layout needs a rebuild.

Get my free quoteListing feeds, IDX and indexing
Many agencies pull listings from an MLS feed, an IDX plugin or a CRM such as, for example, Reapit, Rex or Follow Up Boss. These can create thousands of near-duplicate URLs, load slowly and sit inside iframes that Google cannot read. We check how your feed renders, what is indexed and what is wasted crawl.
- Move listings to crawlable pages with their own titles instead of iframe widgets.
- Set canonical and noindex rules for filters and sold listings.
- Keep sold properties as proof pages where rules allow, with a clear link to the valuation form.
- Add RealEstateAgent and local business markup and keep your address consistent.
Process, timing and price
We begin with a crawl, Search Console review and a list of the suburbs where you list most. Then we write guides in your agents' voice, ask them for the facts only they know, and publish on a steady monthly pace. Agents can record a short voice note per suburb and we turn it into a draft you edit.
The calendar matters. Many markets are busiest in spring in the US and UK and in spring and early summer in Australia, with listings prepared months earlier. Start pages at least three months before the season. Projects start at $1,500 at $30 an hour, and the main cost drivers are suburbs covered, feed complexity and whether the site needs a rebuild. For the build side see our real estate website cost guide.
