In short
Liftup Technologies provides ecommerce SEO for Belgian online shops, working remotely from India. The work covers category and product pages in Dutch and French, structured data with VAT-inclusive prices, faceted navigation, feeds and the January and July sale periods. Results are reported from your own Search Console. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.
The Belgian shopper search journey
A Belgian shopper compares a local shop with big marketplaces and with shops across the border in the Netherlands, France and Germany. In Flanders, Dutch-language marketplaces such as bol are strong competitors for product searches. Your advantage is local detail: Belgian delivery times, Belgian returns, Bancontact at checkout and pages written in the shopper's own language.
Search demand also splits by language. The same product may be searched by one name in Dutch and another in French, and the competition on each is different. We build separate keyword sets per language rather than translating one list.
What we fix and build
| Area | Work we do | Belgian detail |
|---|---|---|
| Category pages | Unique intro, filters that are crawlable, clear internal links | Dutch and French category names chosen from real queries |
| Product pages | Titles, descriptions, images, variant handling | Prices shown with 21% VAT included for consumers |
| Structured data | Product, Offer, review and return-policy markup | EUR currency, in-stock status and a 14-day return window where it applies |
| Feeds | Google Merchant Center product data | Belgian shipping rates and delivery times per language |
| Faceted URLs | Rules for what is indexed and what is not | Language folders and hreflang kept consistent on filtered pages |

The Belgian retail calendar
Belgium has regulated sale periods in January and July, so shoppers look for sale pages at set times. Other peaks include Black Friday in November and Sinterklaas or Saint-Nicolas on 6 December, which matters most for toys, sweets and gifts. Plan evergreen sale pages that keep the same URL each year, and publish them early so they are indexed before the period starts. Check the current legal rules on promotions with your lawyer before naming a sale.
- January and July: sale landing pages and clearance category pages.
- Late November: Black Friday page live well before the date, then reused.
- Early December: Sinterklaas and Saint-Nicolas gift guides in Dutch and French.
- Spring: garden, bike and outdoor ranges, depending on your catalogue.

Get my fixed quoteRules that affect store pages
- EU consumer rules give a 14-day withdrawal right on most distance sales. The terms and the return process should be easy to find on product and checkout pages.
- GDPR and cookies. The Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA) enforces GDPR, so review and remarketing tags wait for consent. A decline means less analytics data, which is why we read Search Console first.
- Reviews. Star ratings in markup must come from real customers. Fake or selected-only reviews risk both legal trouble and lost rich results.
- Accessibility. The European Accessibility Act applies to many online shops since 28 June 2025. Better alt text, labels and structure also help search.
These are items to check with your lawyer. They are not legal advice.
Content that wins category searches
Most Belgian shops under-use category pages. A category such as garden furniture or baby clothes needs a short intro that matches how people search, a buying guide below the product grid, and links to related categories. We write briefs for each language that cover size guides, materials, delivery notes and common questions, then check them against the live results.
Product pages need the same care. Many shops copy manufacturer text, which makes thousands of pages identical to those on other sites. We prioritize your best-selling lines and rewrite titles, descriptions and specification tables first, then add FAQs where buyers ask the same thing repeatedly, such as compatibility or care instructions. Internal links from guides to products give those pages a clear path for crawlers and for shoppers.
How we work
We start with a crawl and a review of your Search Console, then rank fixes by revenue effect: indexing problems, duplicate language pages, thin categories, then product data. Work is remote. A 10:00 call in Brussels is 13:30 or 14:30 in India depending on the season, so reviews are easy to book. You get a written update after each phase. Our broader Belgium SEO page covers the language setup.
Pricing
Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour, in US dollars. Price depends on catalogue size, languages, platform and how much category content must be written. Shopify stores are covered on our Shopify SEO page for Belgium. A Belgian VAT-registered buyer normally reverse-charges VAT at 21% on services from India; confirm with your accountant.
