In short

Liftup Technologies builds AI agents for Spanish businesses, working remotely from India. An agent reads a request, uses approved tools such as your CRM, inbox or database, and completes a task with human approval where needed. We design limits, logging, GDPR handling and Spanish testing. Projects start at $1,500, and a fixed quote follows a short call.

What an agent does that a chatbot does not

A chatbot answers questions. An agent also acts. It can look up an order in your system, draft a reply, create a task, update a record or prepare a document, then report what it did. That power is useful, and it also raises the stakes, so the design has to include limits.

If your need is mostly answering customers from your own content, a chatbot is simpler and cheaper. Our AI agent vs chatbot comparison helps you decide, and the general AI agent development service page explains the method.

Agent tasks that suit Spanish firms

BusinessAgent taskHuman approval
Gestoría or consultancyCollect missing documents, check a checklist, draft a client updateStaff review before sending

We start with one narrow task that has a clear success measure. After it works, we extend it.

Limits, approvals and logs

The risk of an agent is not intelligence, it is permission. We give each agent only the tools it needs, with the narrowest access that works. Actions that cannot be undone, such as sending money, deleting records or emailing customers, go through human approval.

  • A written list of allowed tools and what each may do.
  • Approval steps for sensitive actions, with a clear summary for the reviewer.
  • Logs of every action, input and result, kept for the period you choose.
  • Spending and rate limits on model use.
  • A tested stop switch and a fallback to a person.

Our AI agent security checklist covers these points in more detail, including protection against prompt injection from untrusted emails and documents.

Before go-live we also write a short runbook for your team. It says what the agent does, who reviews its work, how to pause it and whom to call when something looks wrong. A runbook of one page is enough, and it saves time on the first bad day.

Data protection and the AI Act

An agent often handles personal data, so GDPR and the LOPDGDD apply, with the AEPD as the Spanish supervisor. We map what data the agent reads, where it is processed, and which providers act as processors. We favor EU hosting options where your contracts require them and minimize the data sent to a model.

The EU AI Act adds duties that depend on how the system is used and on its risk category. Spain has also set up an AI supervision agency, AESIA. Most business agents fall into lower-risk categories, but use in areas such as hiring or credit scoring is treated differently. We flag the question early and your lawyer decides. Customers should also be told when they are dealing with an automated system.

Testing in Spanish

Agents are tested with realistic cases before they touch live data. For Spanish deployments we use real examples, with names removed: abbreviations, regional vocabulary, messages with spelling errors, and forwarded emails with long threads. We also test tricky cases such as a customer who changes their mind, an unclear request and a message that tries to give the agent new instructions.

Results are measured against a test set that you review. We report what the agent gets right, where it fails and what happens in those failures. You decide when it is ready to go live, and we begin with a limited pilot.

Language is only part of the test. We also check dates in the day-month-year order, amounts written with a decimal comma, and addresses with floor and door numbers, because agents that mishandle these produce errors that look small and cost real time.

How the project runs and what it costs

  1. Pick the taskOne workflow, its tools, data and success measure.
  2. Design limitsPermissions, approvals, logs and fallbacks.
  3. Build and testA prototype tested on Spanish examples.
  4. PilotA small group uses it with review of every action.
  5. Expand or stopBased on the measured results.

We work remotely from India, and calls take place in the Spanish morning. Spain trails India by three and a half hours in summer and four and a half in winter.

Projects start at $1,500, and extra work is $30 an hour. Model usage is billed by the provider and depends on volume. The AI agent cost guide shows the main drivers. Request a fixed quote on the contact page. Prices are in US dollars.

Questions, answered

Can an agent send emails by itself?
It can, but for most firms we start with drafts that a person approves. Autonomy increases only after the results are checked.
Which AI models do you use?
We choose by task, cost, language quality and data terms. See our OpenAI vs Claude API comparison.
Can the agent connect to our software?
Usually yes, through an API, a database connection or an automation tool. Old systems without an API may need a different approach, and we say so early.
How do you stop an agent from making things up?
We ground it in your data, limit its tools, require sources for factual claims and test failure cases. No system is perfect, so important actions get review.
Is it cheaper to start with automation?
Often, yes. Fixed steps do not need an agent. See AI automation in Spain.
