In short

Liftup Technologies designs websites for Belgian businesses, working remotely from India. Each project starts with a language and page plan for Dutch, French and, where needed, German, then moves to design, build and launch on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Next.js. Consent, legal pages and accessibility are part of the scope. You get a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

Who this is for

This page is for Belgian companies that need a new site or a first proper one: professional firms in Brussels, trades and clinics in Flanders or Wallonia, manufacturers selling across the three regions, and startups that need to look credible in more than one language. The common problem is a site that looks fine in one language and falls apart in the second, with untranslated buttons, broken forms and a switcher that sends people to the home page.

Designing for three languages

French and Dutch text rarely has the same length. French labels and headlines often run longer than Dutch ones, German runs longer still, and a tight button that works in English can wrap or overflow. We design with real copy in every language, not placeholder text, and test the longest version first.

Design decisionWhat we do in Belgium
Language switcherVisible in the header, keeps the visitor on the equivalent page, never sets language by IP alone
Brussels audienceOffer French and Dutch at equal weight, with English where your clients expect it
FormsFour-digit postal codes, +32 phone format, and error messages in the page language
TypographyFonts with full accent support so names such as Liège, Mechelen and Genk render cleanly
Dates and pricesDay-month-year, euro sign placement and VAT-inclusive prices for consumers

Legal and trust elements

A Belgian business site normally shows the company name, registered address, enterprise number and VAT number, with a contact route and a privacy notice. Shops add terms of sale and a withdrawal notice. Ask your lawyer to confirm the wording per language, then we place it in the footer and checkout so it is easy to find.

  • Cookie consent. The Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA) enforces GDPR. Non-essential tags wait for consent, and the refuse button carries the same visual weight as accept.
  • Accessibility. The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many consumer-facing sites. We design to WCAG 2.2 AA: contrast, focus states, labels and keyboard use.
  • Privacy notice. One per language, written to match what the forms and analytics really collect.

Our GDPR website checklist shows what we review before launch. This is a technical checklist, not legal advice.

What you receive

  • A sitemap per language and a content plan showing which pages exist in which version.
  • Design in Figma or built directly in the platform, with mobile first.
  • A site on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Next.js, chosen for your team and editing needs.
  • Meta titles, headings and hreflang (nl-BE, fr-BE, de-BE) set up for search.
  • Staging link, weekly demo and a handover with documentation.

A .be domain from DNS Belgium is a good local signal. If you already own the domain and run a .com, we can keep it and use a language structure that suits search.

Content and photography

Design only works with the right words and images. We agree early who writes each language and who approves it. For photography, we recommend real photos of your team, premises and work over stock images, because Belgian buyers in professional services and trades look for signs of a real business. If you have none yet, we plan a short shoot list for your local photographer.

We also design the pages that Belgian visitors look for before they call: a clear contact page with phone, email and address, opening hours, a map link, and the languages your staff speak. For a Brussels firm, that last detail often matters more than a long about page. Where you serve several regions, we add a short section on service areas so visitors in Antwerp, Liège or Leuven can tell you cover them.

Working from India

We are remote. Belgium is 3.5 hours behind India in summer and 4.5 hours behind in winter, so a 10:00 call in Brussels is early afternoon in Pune. One project lead runs the work, you see a demo each week, and feedback goes in a single shared document so nothing is lost between languages. For a brief, use our website brief template.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour, in US dollars. A one-language brochure site sits near the low end. Each added language, each custom template and each integration moves the price. The website cost guide explains the drivers. A Belgian VAT-registered buyer normally accounts for VAT on our services by reverse charge at 21%; check with your accountant.

Questions, answered

Do you design in Dutch and French, or only English?
We design with your supplied copy in each language and review length and layout in all of them. Translation itself is best done by a native writer from your side, or scoped into the quote.
How long does website design take?
A small multilingual site often takes several weeks from approved copy. The quote after the first call gives a timeline for your page count and languages.
Can you redesign our current site instead?
Yes. See website redesign in Belgium for how we keep rankings during a rebuild.
Will the site be fast on mobile?
We set a performance budget at the start and test Core Web Vitals before launch. The result depends on your images, scripts and hosting.
Who owns the design files and the site?
You do. Domain, hosting, repository and design files are in your accounts.
