Why Belgian companies choose WordPress

WordPress powers a large share of business sites, and for good reasons: your staff can edit it, plugins cover most needs, and you are not tied to one agency. For a Belgian company the strongest case is multilingual content. A site with a Dutch and a French version, edited by two people, is a daily task that WordPress handles well when it is set up properly. The weak point is neglect. Unpatched plugins and slow themes are the usual causes of trouble, so we build with fewer plugins and a maintenance plan. Where a client already has an old site, we audit it first. Often the right move is to keep the content, replace the theme and remove half the plugins, which is cheaper than a full rebuild and keeps existing rankings.

We set tax-inclusive prices with the standard 21% VAT, add the reduced rates where products need them, and connect a payment provider that supports Bancontact, cards and other methods your customers use. Compliance and security

• Consent. The Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA) enforces GDPR. Analytics, ad pixels and embedded videos load only after consent, and the banner includes a plain refusal option.
• Accessibility. The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many online shops and consumer services. We choose themes and blocks that can reach WCAG 2.2 AA.
• Hosting. We recommend a host with a European data center, daily backups and a staging site.

How we work

We are remote. Belgium is 3.5 hours behind India in summer and 4.5 hours behind in winter, so we book calls in your morning. A project has a staging link from the first week, a demo each week and one lead. We write custom code in a theme or small plugin you own, not in a paid builder that locks you in. When we finish, we hand over the site, the repository, and a short guide so your team can add pages, translate them and publish.

Editing, performance and long-term care

A site is only useful if your team can change it. We build page layouts from reusable blocks, so staff can compose a new page in Dutch and then duplicate it for French without a developer. We remove unused plugins, compress images, load fonts locally, and cache pages so they open quickly on a mobile connection.

After launch, WordPress needs regular care. Core, theme and plugin updates arrive every month, and some are security fixes. We offer a maintenance block that covers updates, backups, uptime checks and small edits. If you prefer to manage it yourself, we document the process and the restore steps. Either way, you are never locked in, since the theme, content and database belong to you and can move to another host or developer.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500 and our rate is $30 an hour, in US dollars. A simple one-language site is at the low end. More languages, custom post types, WooCommerce and integrations move the price up.
