In short

Liftup Technologies develops custom web applications for French businesses, working remotely from India. We build portals, dashboards, booking tools and internal systems in Next.js or React with an API behind them, French-language interfaces, GDPR-aware data design and accessibility testing. Projects start at $1,500, with a fixed quote within one working day of a short call.

When a spreadsheet stops being enough

Many French firms run a core process on shared spreadsheets and email: quotes, job tracking, client onboarding, stock, bookings or document approval. It works until the third person edits the same file. A web app replaces that with one place where each person sees what they need, changes are logged, and customers can log in without calling the office.

A web app is also the right choice when you need the same tool on every laptop and phone without app-store review. If you need push notifications or deep device access, see mobile app development in France instead. The general approach is on our web app development service page.

Typical builds

Type of appTypical featuresFrench detail
Customer portalLogin, documents, invoices, requestsInterface in French, invoices showing HT, TVA and TTC
Booking systemCalendar, reminders, paymentOpening hours in Paris time, French holidays blocked
Internal toolRoles, workflows, audit logRoles that match French job titles and approval habits
DashboardData from several systems, chartsEuro formatting, French dates, fiscal period filters
Marketplace or directoryListings, search, messagesLegal pages and seller terms reviewed by your adviser

We start with the smallest version that replaces the spreadsheet for one team. Once people use it daily, features are added in order of value.

Before building screens, we write down the rules of the process: who can start a request, who approves it, what happens when someone is absent and which documents must be kept. Those rules, not the screens, are where most projects succeed or fail, and writing them early prevents rework.

Personal data and the CNIL

A web app stores people's data by design, so GDPR shapes the database from the start. The CNIL publishes practical guidance for developers, and we use it as a reference. Treat the points below as items to confirm with your data protection contact.

  • Collect only the fields the feature needs, and record why each one is kept.
  • Give users a way to access, correct and delete their data, and plan how deletion applies to backups.
  • Log who views or changes sensitive records, and restrict access by role.
  • Hash passwords with a modern algorithm and offer two-factor login for admin accounts.
  • Choose hosting with the data location in mind and sign the host's processing terms.

The GDPR website checklist is the starting point we share with clients.

Accessibility and language

The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to a range of consumer-facing services, and the RGAA is the French reference for public bodies and some large companies. Even for an internal tool, accessible forms and keyboard navigation help every user. We test forms, tables, dialogs and error messages with a keyboard and a screen reader, to the WCAG 2.2 AA target.

The interface is built with translation files from the first commit, so French is the default and another language can be added later. We write error messages as full sentences, not codes, because French users rarely tolerate a message that appears in English.

How a project runs from India

  1. DiscoveryA short call and a list of the screens and roles. Fixed quote within one working day.
  2. PrototypeClickable screens, tested with two or three of your real users.
  3. Build in slicesWeekly releases to a test site, so you can try the app at each stage.
  4. Launch and handoverProduction release, monitoring, documentation and transfer of code and accounts.

France is 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind India. We hold demos in your morning and your feedback is ready for us at the start of our day. One lead coordinates the work.

After launch we agree a short support period. We fix defects at no extra charge for an agreed time and keep an hours-based channel for new features. Monitoring and backups are part of the handover, so you know what happens if the host has a problem at night.

Pricing guidance

Projects start at $1,500, with an hourly rate of $30. A small internal tool with a few screens sits near the start. The number of roles, integrations (accounting, payment, CRM), reporting, file handling and the amount of testing push the price up. Hosting is billed to you by the provider. The web app cost guide lays out the factors, and the fixed price vs time and materials comparison explains how we agree scope. If your idea is a software product to sell, see SaaS SEO in France for how it gets found.

Questions, answered

Which technology do you use?
Usually Next.js or React with a backend API and a managed database. We choose based on your needs and your team's ability to maintain it.
Can the app connect to our accounting or CRM?
Often yes, through the tool's API. We check the API during the quote call.
Is hosting in France required?
Not by GDPR alone. Some clients and public bodies ask for it, so decide with your adviser, and we deploy to the region you choose.
Who owns the code?
You do. The repository and hosting accounts are in your name, and we hand over documentation.
How do you handle changes during the build?
We review scope each week. Changes are estimated at the hourly rate and agreed in writing before work.
