In short

Liftup Technologies builds and repairs WordPress and WooCommerce sites for businesses in the Netherlands, working remotely from India. Work includes custom themes, Dutch language setup, iDEAL payment plugins, AVG-ready consent and forms, speed and security hardening. After a short call you receive a fixed quote within one working day, and projects start at $1,500.

Why many Dutch companies still choose WordPress

WordPress gives a business control over its content, a large pool of developers and plugins, and no per-seat licence. It is a common choice for company sites, publishers, associations and WooCommerce shops in the Netherlands. The risks are known too: plugin sprawl, slow themes and outdated installs that attract attacks.

Most of our Dutch WordPress work falls into three groups: a new build on a clean theme, a rescue of a slow or hacked site, and a WooCommerce shop that needs proper payment and tax setup. We start by reading what is installed before suggesting changes.

Typical clients include accountants, clinics, installers, manufacturers and associations that want a site their own staff can edit. We build page layouts with blocks that editors can rearrange safely, so a new service page does not need a developer.

ConsentA consent tool that blocks scripts until acceptedTelecommunicatiewet rules apply to non-essential cookies

SecurityUpdates, backups, login protection, file monitoringKeep logs and backups in the EU where your policy requires it

We keep the plugin list short. Each one adds update work and a possible hole, so we ask what it is for before installing it.

Before adding a plugin we check when it was last updated, how many sites use it, and what data it sends out. Plugins that call external servers can create AVG duties, so the privacy policy should name them. We also remove unused themes and plugins, which shrinks the attack surface.

WooCommerce for Dutch shops

A WooCommerce store must show prices with btw for consumers, at 21% for most goods and 9% for a reduced list, and it must support the 14-day right to withdraw. Shipping rates for PostNL, DHL or DPD, pickup points and a clear return flow come next. Dutch buyers look for iDEAL first, then cards, so the payment plugin is tested with real test payments before launch.

The European payments industry is planning a move from iDEAL towards Wero. We keep payment code inside the provider plugin, so a change is an update, not a rebuild. If you are weighing platforms, see Shopify vs WooCommerce.

Security, speed and upkeep

A WordPress site that is never updated eventually breaks or gets hacked. We set up automatic updates for low-risk items, tested updates for the rest, daily backups with a restore test, and monitoring that alerts you to downtime. Our WordPress security checklist lists the controls.

Speed work covers image sizes, caching, script loading and the choice of host. Dutch visitors expect quick pages, and a host with servers in the EU keeps data close to your visitors and simplifies your privacy answers.

Accessibility is part of the theme work. The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many online shops and services, so we build to WCAG 2.2 AA and test forms, menus and checkout by keyboard. Your lawyer should confirm whether the Act reaches you.

A staging copy of the site is used for every change. We run updates there first, compare key pages and the checkout, and only then apply the same changes to the live site. If something breaks, a restore from backup takes minutes rather than days.

How a project runs remotely

  1. ReviewA short call and a look at the current site, host and plugins.
  2. Fixed quoteScope and price within one working day.
  3. Staging buildAll work happens on a staging copy with weekly demos, never on your live site.
  4. Launch and careGo-live outside your busy hours, then an optional maintenance plan.

Calls sit in the Dutch morning, which overlaps with the Indian afternoon: 3.5 hours of difference in summer and 4.5 in winter.

Pricing

Projects start at $1,500, and our rate is $30 an hour. A simple brochure site is at the low end. Custom theme work, WooCommerce, memberships and integrations push the price up. See the WordPress website cost guide and the WordPress development service for the usual cost drivers.

Questions, answered

Can you fix a slow or hacked WordPress site?
Yes. We clean the infection, find how it got in, update what is outdated and restore trust in the site. Speed work follows once the site is safe.
Can WooCommerce accept iDEAL?
Yes, through a payment provider plugin such as Mollie or MultiSafepay. We test it with test payments before going live.
Do you provide hosting?
We advise on hosting and set it up in your account. You keep ownership, and we can suggest EU hosting if data location matters to you.
Can the site be in Dutch and English?
Yes. We use a multilingual setup with separate URLs and hreflang tags.
Do you offer maintenance after launch?
Yes, as an optional plan covering updates, backups and monitoring.
