In short

Liftup Technologies builds ecommerce stores for Spanish businesses, working remotely from India. We choose the platform with you, then set up IVA, Spanish checkout, card and wallet payments, carriers, legal pages and consent. Stores are tested on phones and handed over with training. Projects start at $1,500, and a fixed quote follows a short call.

Choosing a platform for a Spanish store

The platform matters less than the match between it and your catalogue, team and growth plan. A store with a few hundred products and a small team often does well on Shopify. A shop that needs custom product logic, or that already runs on WordPress, may fit WooCommerce. A large or unusual catalogue can justify a custom or headless build.

SituationUsual fitReason
New brand, standard catalogue, small teamShopifyFast launch, hosted checkout, apps for local payments
Existing WordPress site, content-led sellingWooCommerceOne system for articles and products, full control of code
B2B pricing, quotes, custom account rulesWooCommerce or customFlexible logic for customer groups
Very large catalogue or complex front endHeadless storefrontSpeed and design freedom, higher build cost

Our Shopify vs WooCommerce comparison goes through the trade-offs. For platform work in Spain, see Shopify development and WordPress and WooCommerce development.

Tax, prices and consumer rules

Spanish shoppers expect prices shown with IVA included, and the standard rate is 21%, with reduced rates for some goods. Rules differ for the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, so tell us which territories you ship to. Your gestor confirms rates and invoice details, and we configure the platform to match.

  • Prices shown in euros with IVA included for consumers, with the tax visible on the invoice.
  • Information on the 14-day right of withdrawal and a model form, linked from the checkout and the order email.
  • Aviso legal, privacy policy, cookie policy and terms of sale in Spanish.
  • Clear delivery costs and times before the final payment step.
  • A cookie banner that blocks non-essential scripts until consent, in line with AEPD guidance.

These are the common points. Your lawyer decides exactly what applies to your products, for example for digital goods, made-to-order items or regulated products.

Payments and checkout

Cards are the base. Spanish shoppers also use Bizum, a mobile payment service tied to bank accounts, and many use PayPal or Apple Pay and Google Pay. Which of these you can switch on depends on your bank or payment provider, so we check that before designing the checkout. Many Spanish merchants work with Redsys-based gateways through their bank.

We test the payment flow with test cards and, where possible, a real low-value order before launch.

Delivery, returns and operations

A store is more than a checkout. Delivery rules shape conversion: free shipping thresholds, islands and peninsula zones, pickup points and delivery time promises. We connect the carriers you already use, show rates in the cart and create labels where the carrier offers a plugin or API.

Returns need a simple process. We build a return request page, status emails and, if you want, a link to your warehouse or accounting tool. For stock, we can sync inventory with your ERP or marketplace listings. Integrations vary widely, so we list them in the first call and quote them separately.

Accessibility is part of the build. The European Accessibility Act applies from 28 June 2025 to many online shops, so we aim for WCAG 2.2 AA in templates, forms and checkout. Your lawyer confirms whether your business is in scope.

Price

Projects start at $1,500, and extra work is $30 an hour. Catalogue size, number of integrations, custom features and languages move the price. The ecommerce website cost guide shows the main drivers, and you can request a fixed quote on the contact page. Platform subscriptions, payment fees and apps are billed separately. Prices are in US dollars.

Questions, answered

How long does an online store take to build?
A small catalogue on a hosted platform can take a few weeks. Larger catalogues and integrations take longer, and we give a timeline in the quote.
Can you migrate my existing store?
Yes. We move products, customers and orders where the platform allows, and set up redirects so search traffic is kept. See website migration.
Do you add Bizum?
If your bank or payment provider supports it, yes. We configure and test it. Availability depends on the provider, not on us.
Will the store sell in other EU countries?
Yes. We can add languages, currencies and shipping zones. Tax rules for cross-border sales are complex, so confirm them with your adviser first.
Do you provide product photos or copy?
We can write templates and draft descriptions from your data. Photography is your responsibility, though we advise on sizes and style.
